Isis

i LOVE this song. as for its meaning, i assume she's singing about all her exes and possibly casting revenge upon them??

Since it's called Isis and it mentions loves being in pieces I assumed that it was making a refrence to the story of how the egyptian God Osiris was cut into pieces by his brother Seth or Set which was witnessed by osiris's wife Isis. But I really have no idea I haven't even herd this song.

It's sort of like looking back at people who you had a history with despising them, and wanting revenge. Haha, or that's what I get from it. I really like this banddddddd. :D

yeah. i think it has something relating to the goddess Isis. i believe Osiris was locked in a coffin made just for him by his envious brother, Set, and Set put his body in a river (nile?) when Set found his casket washed ashore, he then cut him into 14 pieces? and Set hid the pieces of his body in various places in egypt. and Isis, his wife/sister went looking for all of them. and found every piece but one. so maybe its about a girl trying to put a guy back together in some way. im not quite sure but the egyptian mythology is truely fascinating.

I agree with the egyptian mythology connection. I think she's comparing herself to Isis looking for the pieces of her love everywhere except instead of her having one love she's had numerous meaningless ones (one-night stands?).

She wants to gather them all together and if they're still feeling high and mighty she wants to wake them up and show them what they really are. Throw them into the ocean to watch them devoured.

I just discovered from Wikipedia that ISIS was an ancient greek goddess, whose lover's body was cut into 14 pieces and scattered throughout Egypt. "When Osiris' body was cut in 14 pieces, Seth scattered them all over Egypt and his wife "Isis" retrieved all of them except one, his penis, which was swallowed by a fish (see the Legend of Osiris and Isis). supposedly, Isis made a metallic replacement." I kinda sense a relation to this story and the song!
