Who told you about a man without fear
Who told you about a god who does not care
Who told you about a pain that does not hurt
Who told you about a love that turns to dirt

Devils
You've got a face-to-face with your
Devils
You've got a race to race with your
Devils
You've got to find a place among your
Devils
You cannot replace your
Devils
Devils

Who told you about cause and effect
Who told you about a heart that can forget
Who told you about fortune and fame
Who told you that the evil has got no name

Devils
You've got a face-to-face with your
Devils
You've got a race to race with your
Devils
You've got to find a place among your
Devils
You cannot replace your
Devils
You can't deny
Devils
They'll get you in the night

You gotta ride on your rage with your devils

The opening line "Who told you about a man without fear?" is a reference to a comic, in which the main character has no fear. And the 'Devils' the song is about emotional, personal struggles, as opposed to conventional Devils associated with Hell, so it has quite a good, uplifting message behind it, it is a pretty good song, and awesome when played live.

I could listen to this over and over and over again. The drums at the beginning are just so attention grabbing. They trap you and you can't stop listening to the song. It's brilliant.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again.
