Access Me Lyrics

The first time I came over I was bitten by your dog
You weren't even there 'cause you were walking in the fog
I call you up and plead and beg and talk to your machine
My friends say not to bother when you're acting pretty mean

But I don't need to bother you, no I won't play that part
I just want access to the inside of your heart
Access to your thoughts on the way that I should be
So I could start to change and maybe you could access me

Access me, access me

You could tell me all about all the things you did at work
The guy who sits beside you and how he's acting like a jerk
And you don't have to open up the secrets of your soul
But if that's the place you want me I'd be glad to pay the toll

But I don't need to bother you, no I won't play that part
I just want access to the inside of your heart
Access to your thoughts on the way that I should be
So I could start to change and maybe you could access me

Access me

The most notorious way used for carrying out executions, by decapitation, was with the use of a device known to the world as the guillotine. The guillotine consists of a very sharp and heavy blade, suspended above something similar to a cutting board by two arm-like pieces. The blade, which rests upright on the cutting board, is attached to a rope, which is attached to a rig that acts as a pulley. The blade is then lifted to the highest point of which the two arms extend to, and held there until a person places his or her neck under the projectory of the blade. The blade is then allowed to drop, severing the victim's head from his or her body. The device is noted for long being the main method of execution in France and, more particularly, for its use during the French Revolution.

Pretty straight forward lyrics, which is rare for a Phish song. Sounds more like They Might Be Giants, than Phish.
