Another Boredom Movement Lyrics
You were conceived on a storyboard
In an uptown high-rise
Where your celebrity was born
From umbilical obscurity
And the list keeps growing
And our ears keep bleeding
And the masses keep begging for more
And your screams keep coming
And the units keep moving
And the masses keep begging for more
The grins of your puppeteers are beaming
Because the quotas will be made
Or your time in the spotlight will fade
At the hands of the same pigs that made you
So speak of movements
To move more units
And invent brand name for your “believers”
Like brands on slaves
We’ll still be waiting for something stimulating
Because in the end all you sold us was boredom
In an uptown high-rise
Where your celebrity was born
From umbilical obscurity
And our ears keep bleeding
And the masses keep begging for more
And your screams keep coming
And the units keep moving
And the masses keep begging for more
Because the quotas will be made
Or your time in the spotlight will fade
At the hands of the same pigs that made you
To move more units
And invent brand name for your “believers”
Like brands on slaves
Because in the end all you sold us was boredom

This entire album is about the rot forming form within the entire christian religion. Specifically directed at mainstream, mega-churches.
"You were conceived on a storyboard in an uptown high-rise, where your celebrity was born from umbilical obscurity." = Religion has been twisted and turned from whatever it started out as and now it's a big business centered on making the followers give until it hurts.
"And invent brand name for your "believers" = Baptists, Catholics,7th Day, Latter Day Saints / Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, etc.
"We'll still be waiting for something stimulating because in the end all you sold us was boredom." = Churches these days are just rewording and regurgitating the same messages compared to whatever is happening in the news and this is boring and they are not helping anyone.
Welp, this is talking about how people want to buy buy buy more and more. The industry loves it because there quotas are being made and this is how it is planned. We look to them to keep making more clothes and things so that we can wear brand names and be "somebody." But in the end, we keep wanting more and it never fills the void.
read my comment in Little Green Men This follows up the track "...and help you sleep" which is stan entering a rehab center for his drinking issue he got trapt with in the song Team Black...
Now his band is reached the top of the charts, Everybody wants more and more of their music.. But everything that goes up must come down.
"The grins of your puppeteers are beaming Because the quotas will be made Or your time in the spotlight will fade At the hands of the same pigs that made you
So speak of movements To move more units And invent brand name for your “believers” Like brands on slaves
We’ll still be waiting for something stimulating Because in the end all you sold us was boredom"
They release a 'black sheep album' or something of the like, and they start to die off, their label company kicks them out on the street...
note the track is "to brighten your day" not "...and help you sleep"
its about how people do so mych to impress people but it doesnt really matter cuz one day it'll all come crashing down.
i think its about freaking prostotution... but you know... whatever
I thought it was obvious, but by the other comments, it's obviously not. It's a song about mainstream labels, but to the bands that put out whatever the labels want them to. They keep putting out the same, simple-minded trash with little no creativity that's all structured with money and marketing in mind.
It's not art, it's business.
The label conceives the artist on a storyboard, much like a cartoon or comic book. The "artist" succeeds (4th line) and the chorus shows the corporate idea of success.
The second verse, the artist is the puppet and the suits are the puppeteers. Either they get rich or you get tossed aside, but either way, they'll be making money because "units are moving"; or you'll get tossed aside by the label, "the same pigs that made you."
"And invent brand name for your believers Like brands on slaves"
Merch anyone? Genius lyrics.
The last lines are about how it's the same drivel, and even though we continue to suck it up, the only reason we do is because we're still waiting for something stimulating, something REAL.
