Jefferson Aero Plane Lyrics

If it hurts, kiss it better
You wear skirts, I write nice letters
Never said nothing with flowers
Though we always talked for hours
And it seems to get much colder
When you cry on your own shoulder
And we know the show must go on
Guess I know, I guess I'll throw on

Some jefferson airplane
I'm trapped and I am enclosed
But I won't complain, I'll open all the windows
Jefferson airplane
I'm trapped and I am enclosed
But I won't complain, I'll open all the windows
'Cause when it's colder
I feel much better when I cry on my own shoulder
Just throw on a sweater and go

And I'll go to undergo
A change of heart, a change of clothes
And when I'm home
I think I'll go eat cereal and stare out the window

I'll make the calls, you cover your ears
Niagra Falls still flows on new year's
I will save your plunging neck-line
Kiss your face, you try to deck mine
If I behave, it's gonna cost him
Skip the rave in downtown Boston
We all know the show must go on
Guess I know, I guess I'll throw on

Some jefferson airplane
I'm trapped and I am enclosed
But I won't complain, I'll open all the windows
Jefferson airplane
I'm trapped and I am enclosed
But I won't complain, I'll open all the windows
'Cause when it's colder
I feel much better when I cry on my own shoulder
Just throw on a sweater and go

And I'll go to undergo
A surgery to purge me of this lonely mood
And my ego, the status quo
Provides me with a decent attitude
And I'll go to undergo
A change of heart, a change of clothes
And when I'm home
I think I'll go eat cereal and stare out the window

'Cause you confuse me more than anyone
An adjustment has begun
To let me feel the desperate need
To leave what we undid undone
And maybe you could sympathize
With the bags under my eyes
And we'll see the signs are saying that we
Have used up all our [tries]
Try to be a better person
To be a better friend
To be a better son

He tries to be a better someone
That understands the difference
And that he can't show all the people
All the things that really mean
As much as he could [feel]
Feels like I don't remember
Ever being this tired [before]
Before now, my eyes were closed to
All of the beauty in this world...

Jefferson airplane
I'm trapped and I am enclosed
But I won't complain, I'll open all the windows
Jefferson airplane
I'm trapped and I am enclosed
But I won't complain, I'll open all the windows
'Cause when it's colder
I feel much better when I cry on my own shoulder
Just throw on a sweater and go

And I'll go to undergo
A surgery to purge me of this lonely mood
And my ego, the status quo
Provides me with a decent attitude
And I'll go to undergo
A change of heart, a change of clothes
And I'll go, oh yes, I'll go
And hope the new me shows
So everybody

Knows that I've found myself able to fly away
Without magic feathers, or jefferson aero planes
I've got with me all that I need

PEPPERONI! and it was all just a dream...

rap song...

I'm like a fuseneck with I keep getting restless Eat 20 pounds of pasgetti for breakfast Still showin up on your 10 best dressed list I told you my name was MC Defenseless Duct tape wrapped around my feet Held hostage before the big track meet 14 feet from 18th Street I know for a fact that you think I'm neat

Yo, you stick around like fly on the wall With surround sound you found that you hear it all When it all comes through I heard you say "Sup dude?" (I never thought money really mattered to you) And all the King's horses and...

Yeha, I love that part. Especially the whole SIlly Shoes thing. Funny, I always thought the last Shoes comeback was "The respect for you is so that we won't lose" I hate how it's so long after the song though, they should've just made it another track. The Snakes part is very random.

I think that the singer is in love with this girl and would do anything for her. A "Jefferson Airplane" is the term used when you're smoking a joint and you get to the end and it's so hot you need to use sticks to hold it. "Jefferson Airplane" is also the name of an old band that kept changing their name and style to fit in with what the popular audiences wanted. If I'm not mistaken, they changed from "Jefferson Airplane" to "Jefferson Starship" to "Starship", but none of the bands under any title were successful. They changed band members and styles and names but couldn't please anyone. I think this song is sort of saying like he's trying so hard, but theres nothing left to hold onto so he's moving on. He loves this girl, but she doesn't notice him. He thinks the world of her but can't understand why ('cause you confuse me more than anyone). He wants to change and be the guy she wants (and I'll go to undergo a change of heart a change of clothes), just like the band "Jefferson Airplane" did, but he's still lonely (and I'll go to undergo a surgery to purge me of this lonely mood). He's not done trying though. Eventually, he moves on (before now, my eyes were closed to all the beauty in this world). She'll always be a part of him, and he'll always be lonley (i think i'll go eat cereal and stare out the window) but he's decided not to change for her. He's sort of wallowing in his lonliness waiting for the world to change for him. This song has such a deep meaning and most people don't understand how to think like Matt Thiessen, which is probably why this song is always very low on their iTunes charts. If you take the time to really think about and embrace the song, you'll find such a deep passion that Matt Thiessen has for music. It's pretty brilliant. This song (and this band) is my favorite.

My Interpretation

Originaly I just thought it was a cool song, but after I went through a break up it meant so much more to me. "Never said nothin with flowers....." It's like, he never went out of his way to show her he cared but he thought it was obvious when they talked so often. And later, she's getting over him (kiss your face you try to deck mine) but he wants to "leave what [they] undid undone" but he's not going to complain, he's going to try to hide his hurt (just put on a sweater and go) I can relate

I really like this song. The variations, the piano, the middle part, all of it. It makes me feel better like getthejacket said.

I really like "I think I'll go eat cereal and stare out the window." Because it reminds me of myself whenever I go home from college, because I have no friends at home and I'm kinda lonely, so I wake up sometime in the afternoon and eat cereal and just stare out the window... haha. sigh

I think this song is about loniless and how to deal with it. I don't know if it's supposed to be Jefferson Airplane (the band) or Jefferson Aero Plane... (what is that?). It's spelt both ways in the lyrics.

"And it seems to get much colder When you cry on your own shoulder" That is just genius.

Amazing song... very confusing on the meaning, but i'm going to give my take on this.... Most of their songs are about God and stuff, but i really think this one is about a girl... "You wear skirts, I write nice letters".... i think it's about a relationship breakup... the first part (like paragraph) is about having to get over it because he realizes he shouldn't have to dwell on a girl... then the second part is about the break up he's saying it's like colder because he's alone, and that he likes to pity himself and cry on his own shoulder... but then he's saying that he has to get over it again and "just throw on a sweater and go"... the third part is saying how he's having a change of heart and he's just contemplating about the relationship and everything that went wrong (staring out his window while eating cereal)... then the fourth part is about him still liking her and how much he likes her even though she doesn't like him "i'll kiss your face you try to deck mine".. but he knows he still has to get over her so once again at the end of the fourth part he says "Guess I know, guess i'll throw on" like he knows he needs to get over her even though he doesn't want to... the fifth part is about how's he's trapped into liking her even though he wants to escape it (he kinda has to know he should) but at the end he's ready to forget her again..... the sixth part is about him knowing he desperately needing to change and he relates it to needing a surgery, and at the end of the sixth part he is contemplating about it again (even though the first time he thought about it he still couldn't get over her... the seventh part is about him contemplating about how confusing she is and he's been thinking about it alot (bags under his eyes) and then he realizes he needs to get his other priorities straight and not worry about the girl, like becoming a better friend, a better person, a better son (like to god)..... the eigth part he has finally gotten over the girl and now he is focusing on god like he should have in the first place.... then the last two parts are about how he has change and he hopes the new him shows and then he realizes he doesn't need anything else but god ...... that's my take people, tell me if u think that is close at all, lol

I totally agree with you about pretty much EVERYTHING you just said. I think this whole song is about him getting over a girl, and wanting to change because he sat around for months contemplating everything that went wrong. So he knows everything he did wrong, and he wants to change that so he can have a better relationship with the next girl.

SwimAndy that seems about exactly right...I guess I took it more literally, but now that I think about it the "surgery" works better as a metaphor. But if being cold is a metaphor for loneliness, why does he say "'cause when it's colder, I feel much better"? Is it just that he's realizing how much he pities himself?
