Said The Spider To The Fly Lyrics
(Entry number one, I still hear the boots in the hallway)
Spider:
I want your head.
I want your wicked parts.
I want to wring out your evil thoughts.
I want to eat out your bitter heart.
I want your soul to sing six words harmony
Of all the pigs that might tempt me.
I know you're sick alone and I’m telling everyone everything.
So scratch it on the wall of your coffin on your sick day home:
"And when your lover loves to cheat there's another you can meet
It’s a short pier, it's a long walk home"
You gotta show me where it hurts,
There’s a beast and a burden
Kicking, spitting on your bathroom floor.
This is your life this is your life and
When I’m done it's over just a little bit more.
Good things die all the time,
So God bless your heart, vengeance is mine.
"Kiss me like you mean goodbye," said the spider to the fly.
All those times you thought that you were wrong, you were right.
Fly:
So if I fight the good fight will hairlines recede?
Will lines deepen in face to craft a look of defeat?
I feel the end is near my little Monday night whore,
My little Saturday night became a Sunday remorse.
And it's all over America,
The godless game show heathens.
This is your life, this is your life,
And at last my good friend we are even.
I know I’ll never lose an arm, never stay up staring at the phone.
If I ever rot up with disease don't you bury me and leave,
Don’t you leave me in the ground alone.
You gotta show me where it hurts, never cremate me to burn,
Never chop me up and throw me to sea.
You’ll never have to find the words they come out spilling unrehearsed,
But you and I will never find that peace.
Good things die all the time,
God bless your heart, vengeance is mine.

Ecci is dead on. This is a love song from Jeffrey Dahmer to his victims and it's full of references to his crimes. If you know about the case it helps understand the song. Dahmer imfamously kept some of the victims body parts, including their heads and as the song says their wicked parts (genitals). Some of the lines are references to his "experiments" made on his victims. He also battled with religion and athiesm (sunday remorse). It also hints at his philosophy on life (Good things die all the time, So God bless your heart, vengeance is mine), if there's no god he can make his own rules in life and would be serving the world as much as anyone else, because man has no authority.
All in all an amazing song musically and lyrically. This is the second song I heard from them and I was very impressed.
I saw the music video for the first time today, this song is umm interesting, well like nothing I've heard before. aNyways the video is so weird but perfect this song definatly belongs in some horror flick but a good one.
this song is beautifully orchestrated chaos.
the banging of the piano is genius.
they are amazing through being so terribly irritating.
i adore them.
this song is wonderful musically. at first, the piano and cello part is very harmonious, but after each chorus, an extra note/chord of piano dissonance is added, and each time stronger than before. of course, this dissonance is used to create tension in the song and each time the chorus is reached, the song has release. finally at the end, a cacophony of sound plays in the background over his voice, but it's so well placed, it's like organized chaos. my fav. band.
superb band. best release is still young bodies heal quickly though. beautifully messy.
This song is insane. It's one of those songs that you really get into when you're singing along (alone. XD) Good for release of emotions. I love this song.
This song is extremely disturbing/beautiful, like all their other music. It's really the only band that seems like they're plumbing the depth of human evil while still making it sound beautiful. I also love the video for this song because it's equally twisted, and if you watch John throughout the song, they pan to his crotch and he's packing wood, which conveys the feeling that he's getting off to the evil and the pain. Just an interesting thing, I thought.
I saw them (well congleton) play this acoustic before the album came out. it was awe-inspriring. just him out the front of the stage after they had finished playing, there was only about 10 of us there as well as it was in colchester. it was absolutly fantasitc.

I agree. On stage Congletons face is a canvas of emotions. Theres so much honesty.
the perfect song to scream at the top of your lungs to. absolutely love it.
