Is anybody listening?
Can you hear me when I call?
Shooting signals in the air,
'cause I need somebody's help.
I can't make it on my own,
So I'm giving up myself
Is anybody listening?
Listening

I've been stranded here and I'm miles away.
Making signals hoping they save me
I lock myself inside these walls
'cause out there I'm always wrong.
I don't think I'm gonna make it.
So while I'm sitting here on the eve of my defeat
I write this letter and hope it saves me

Is anybody listening?
Can you hear me when I call?
Shooting signals in the air
'cause I need somebody's help
I can't make it on my own
So I'm giving up myself
Is anybody listening?
Listening

I'm stuck in my own head and I'm oceans away.
Would anybody notice if I chose to stay?
I send an S.O.S. tonight
I wonder if I will survive
How in the hell did I get so far away this time?
So while I'm sitting here
The time of my departure's near.
Say a prayer please someone save me.

Is anybody listening?
Can you hear me when I call?
Shooting signals in the air
'cause I need somebody's help
I can't make it on my own
So I'm giving up myself
Is anybody listening?
Listening

I'm lost here
I can't make it on my own
I don't want to die alone
I'm so scared
Drowning now
Reaching out
Holding onto everything I love
Crying out
Dying now
Need some help!

Is anybody listening?
Can you hear me when I call?
Shooting signals in the air
I need somebody's help
I can't make it on my own
I'm giving up myself.
Is anybody listening?

OK to clear up any questions about this song, S.O.S is sorta like HOLD ON, except it's more descriptive of things people think about! They are calling out for help in this song and in HOLD ON, they were saying, bascially to HOLD ON

this song is the follow up to hold on... in hold on they r telling u to not let the world affect u and to stay in this world.... in S.O.S. they r calling out for help... they cant handle the world but they dont want to leave it... they need some ones help.... this song is the after math of hold on... this song will help a lot of ppl who want to commit suicide...

Well. This song has both helped and hurt me. I was at that point. That point of no return. And I turned on this song. Not a good idea. It made me feel worse and do what I (now) regret. Fortunatly, it didn't work. So, this song really won't help people...hold on will more than this will.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
