Always see it on T.V.
Or read in the magazines
Celebrities they want sympathy
All they do is piss and moan
Inside the Rolling Stone
Talkin' about how hard life can be

I'd like to see them spend a week
Livin' life out on the street
I don't think they would survive
But they could spend a day or two
Walking in someone else's shoes
I think they'd stumble and they'd fall
They would fall (fall)

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
They're always complainin'
Always complainin'
If money is such a problem
Well they got mansions
Think we should rob them

Well did you know when you were famous you could kill your wife
And there's no such thing as 25 to life
As long as you've got the cash, to pay for Cochran
And did you know if you were caught and you were smokin' crack
McDonalds wouldn't even want to take you back
You could always just run for mayor of D.C.

I'd like to see them spend a week
Livin' life out on the street
I don't think they would survive
But they could spend a day or two
Walking in someone else's shoes
I think they'd stumble and they'd fall
They would fall

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
They're always complainin'
Always complainin'
If money is such a problem
Well they got mansions
Think we should rob them (rob them)

(They would fall, they would fall, fall)

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
They're always complainin'
Always complainin'
If money is such a problem
You got so many problems
Think I could solve them

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
We'll take the clothes, cash, cars, and homes, just stop complainin'
Lifestyles of the rich and famous
Lifestyles of the rich and famous
Lifestyles of the rich and famous

Wow I love this song it's so funny and true. Don't they wear pizza costumes in their video? Either way, this song is sweet. I think this song has two perspectives to it: 1. They are making fun of themselves and realizing that this is what they are like and they complain, but really there are starving kids with AIDS and who have no parents. 2. They're not making fun of themselves, they're actually trying to say something. All these celebrities are complaining and they have it good so they should shut their 2 million dollar mouths. Maybe GC is saying to those tabloid celebs, you know, "Shut up could be worse." Whatever.

Thanks, Wizar! I was amazed that no one had made the connection to Marion Berry in their comments. I was just going to say the same thing. Being from DC myself, I always take pleasure in hearing them poke fun at that crack head. It's actually true, however, that McDonalds won't hire a person with a proven drug history but apparently the people of this Nation's Capital will. Ah, the irony.

This song talks about how celebrities complain about how they "have it so bad" Wow, I wish people following me around, taking pictures of me, being rich and famous were my only problems. This song makes a really good point.

-yourfaceherefkr-, so amazingly true. seriously, if i was getting paid to do what i love, i would keep my mouth shut. no, not even that. i think i'd keep going on and on about how amazingly lucky i am. wish i could invite some celebrities over to my city, let them live my life. that'd give em a shock so bad they wouldn't forget.

Blank Space
Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.
