Man I'm in trouble, 'cause I can't see clear.
My head is pounding harder and you're not here, are never here.
But I had it once, but not anymore.
Well now I am tired and now I am bored, well I'm so bored.

But I could never leave you, even though I've tried.
No I could never leave you, 'cause you are mine for life.

I've been lost I've been found, I've been fooling around.
I've been hold, I've been told, I've been changing my mind.
I've been up, I've been down, come on in, take your time.
I've been low, I've been high, I'm in love with this lie.
Aooooooo. Do you feel the same?
Aooooooo. It wears me out again.

If this is called living, well don't count me in.
Sure I feel alive, but it doesn't mean a thing, no nothing.

Aooooooo. Do you feel the same?
Aooooooo. It wears me out again.

I've been lost I've been found, I've been fooling around.
I've been up, I've been down, come on in, take your time.
I've been low, I've been high, I'm in love with this lie.
So good, It's so good, so good, HA!

It brings me up just to kick me down.
It'll fix me up, just to kick me down.
Kick it, kick it, kick it up.
Well bring me down oh yeah yeah.

I think it may be about loving someone who doesn't feel the same way towards you. "My head is pounding harder and you're not here, are never here..." "...But I could never leave you, even though I've tried." And how maybe at one point they had, but even so, this person feels so strong and can't let go. "But I had it once, but not anymore." And also that they're hoping the other person's feelings may change. "Aooooooo. Do you feel the same? Aooooooo. It wears me out again. " I think there are some other things, but that's kind of what I think..

Personally, I think this song is about liking/loving someone who the singer doesn't really WANT to love. ("Now I am tired and now I am bored") ("It wears me out again") Like, she goes around and around in circles, liking this person, keeping them held on a string or leash, and yet she doesn't love them anymore. ("But I had it once, but not anymore") She wants to have her cake and eat it too.

Well ... this song could be about someone who is married, but kinda lost interest.

... but it could be about drugs also lol. : > Drugs are false, and kiiiind of hard to let go of. ;o "I've been low, I've been high, I'm in love with this lie. "

It's about drugs. Withdrawal symptoms, being addicted and trying to let go but not being able to

But then again, love is the drug.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
