She fooled all of her friends,
Into thinking she's so strong,
But she still sleeps with the light on,
And she acts like it's all right on,
As she smiles again
Her mother lies there sick with cancer,
And her friends don't understand her,
She's a question without answers,
Who feels like falling apart

She knows, she's so much more than worthless,
But she needs to find her purpose,
She wonders what she, did to deserve this

[Chorus]
She's calling out to you,
This is a call; this is a call out,
Cause every time I fall down,
I reach out to you
And I'm losing all control now,
And my hazard signs are all out,
I'm asking you, to show me what this life, is all about

He tells everyone a story,
Because he feels his life is boring,
And he fights, so you won't ignore him,
Because that's his biggest fear
And he cries, but you'll rarely see him do it,
He loves, but he's scared to use it,
So he hides behind the music,
Cause he likes it that way

She knows, she's so much more than worthless,
But she needs to find her purpose,
She wonders what she, did to deserve this

He knows, heâ??s so much more than worthless,
He needs to find the surface,
Because he's, starting to get nervous

[Chorus]

He's calling out to you,
This is a call, this is a call out,
Every time I fall down,
I reach out to you
And I'm losing all control now,
And my hazard signs are all out,
I'm asking you, to show me what this life, is all about

Have you ever felt this way before?,
Cause I don't want to hide here anymore,
Take me to a place where nothing's wrong, and,
Thanks for coming, shut the door
They say someone out there sees us,
Well if you're real then save me Jesus,
Cause I've been this way, for far too long,
I wasn't meant, to feel alone

[Chorus]

Now I'm calling out to you,
This is a call, this is a call out,
Every time I fall down,
I reach out to you
And I'm losing all control now,
And my hazard signs are all out,
I'm asking you, to show me what this life, is all about
show me what this life, is all about [Repeat x2]

i can really relate to the first verse of this song. almost everything in it is true. my mother recently died from cancer and i've put on a strong attitude around everyone. my friends think that i'm doing fine and i'm already over it but i'm not. i struggle. i wonder why this had to happen. i question god and never feel like i'm getting any answers. while i laugh and smile with my friends, when i'm alone my mind drifts back to my mom and how much it hurts that she isn't here. i cry at night when no one else will notice.

this song means a lot to me.

this is a call is the most amazing song i have heard in my life. <3 it is so beautiful and touches my heart in a place i never knew was there. it is my all time favorite song. it makes me choke up everytime i hear it. it is down to earth and anyone can relate to it. this song to me is about a need to belong which everyone feels. me and this one kid have had a thing for a while now and everytime i hear this song i think of him and how much we understand eachother. alot of the emotions in this song is exactly how i feel.

i did not mean to add the lines to the song in the previous post and i do not know how to delete it.

this has got to be my favorite tfk song. i just love the line "and they say someone out there sees us, well if youre real, then save me jesus." Hes showing that hes really come to the end of himself, and he just wants to make things right with his Creator

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
