Japanese Fantasy Lyrics
The rocket ship took me so far away
From the fields where I had lost my way
A million people with a million souls
On a rocket ship that lost control
All I ever wanted was to feel
Like I had done something with my life
All I found was you
From the fields where I had lost my way
A million people with a million souls
On a rocket ship that lost control
Like I had done something with my life
All I found was you

Seems like the singer managed to escape and start over but even tho he tried like everyone else he was pulled back by someone that he is trying to hold on to
The rocket ship took me so far away From the fields where I had lost my way / Escaping from where he is from where he can't find himself or what he is doing with his life /
A million people with a million souls On a rocket ship that lost control / like with everyone else who tries to escape, he loses control and... /
All I ever wanted was to feel Like I had done something with my life All I found was you / ...can't get free of the person he keeps coming back to. Even tho he is trying to be free and do something with his life, he keeps coming back to that one person /
I love this song.
( I love you Sara)
This song is so beautiful and surreal it's amazing. I don't even like VAST that much but this song is absolutely wonderful. The meaning of the song I'm really not sure of but it stirs up such an emotional reaction, especially:
All I ever wanted was to feel Like I had done something with my life All I found was you
:(
I cant take this song out of my mind..
The beggining is like a abstract thing, a surreal thing.. then it put itself in a concrect idea..
and "all i found was you" just releaf the soul.. heheh..
=P
This is one my favourite songs. It is incredibly beautiful. It tells me a beautiful narrative .. I always think outside of the square with this song, I can't help it. :) I see a person, lost and yearning for something more, but he can't seem to find his way and take control. So he moves away to a completely different world, where there are millions of people (Japan?). He dreams of taking control and doing something, but his 'rocket ship' (that was supposed to take him away) loses control - when he meets that person(?). And he realises that he hasn't done anything, and that nothing has changed. He has come all this way, but all he has found is her. If that makes sense.. lol. I really like neontempest's interpretation as well. :)
Just from being a VAST fan for about 15 years, I know a little about this song.
Jon Crosby was raised by his mom and he never knew his dad. His dad was apparently Japanese in ethnicity.
This song is basically about trying to have a connection with his dad even though he never knew him, or never will.
