Hey Montana Lyrics
Hey montana take your daughter back,
From the bathrooms of Angeles Vall.
She believes in destiny
Her names always misspelled
Waitressing to pay the rent
Drinks to quell the smell
Of people breathing way too close,
Folks who don't mean well
No one sees the color of your eyes
No one sees your smile
No one knows the secrets that you hide
No one sees you cry
She parks her car two blocks away, from apartment 15A
She walks with somber in her step and scores along the way
Blue's your hue you tiny thing Dropping patrons wine
Singing to you own sad song
Two feet stuck in the mire
Hey montana take your daughter back
It's clear she needs your care
These bustling
Streets are icy veins of a beast who snuffs her prayer
Her bones and the truth show through
From the bathrooms of Angeles Vall.
She believes in destiny
Her names always misspelled
Waitressing to pay the rent
Drinks to quell the smell
Of people breathing way too close,
Folks who don't mean well
No one sees the color of your eyes
No one sees your smile
No one knows the secrets that you hide
No one sees you cry
She parks her car two blocks away, from apartment 15A
She walks with somber in her step and scores along the way
Blue's your hue you tiny thing Dropping patrons wine
Singing to you own sad song
Two feet stuck in the mire
Hey montana take your daughter back
It's clear she needs your care
These bustling
Streets are icy veins of a beast who snuffs her prayer
Her bones and the truth show through

So this girl grew up in the big state of Montana, right? And she wants to be a movie star. Yeah, that's the gist of it. But I like getting into line by line translation.

I never thought of the thing about the girl being from montana and it being a call for her to give up her dreams and move back home. I think you are right on that part, now that I think about it. The problem, however, seems to be that you missed a big sub-theme of prostitution. She might have moved to Angeles Vall to be a movie star, but in order to survive she became a prostitot[sic].
Lines that corroborate:
Hey montana take your daughter back, From the bathrooms of Angeles Vall. -Take her back from the bathrooms of Angeles Vall? She scrubbing toilets? I think this might just be a metaphor for the double minus life she is leading or it could be something about her turning tricks.
Waitressing to pay the rent Drinks to quell the smell Of people breathing way too close, Folks who don't mean well

Yeah. That's what I think.
eh i guess i kind of agree with both of the above. see i've been thinking its a song about a woman who is into prostitution and drugs who has a kid that she should be thinking about. so i literally was thinking there's a woman named Montana and someone is saying get your life together for your kid.
oh i forgot another thing, i've seen documentaries and stuff about prostitutes who will keep their kids in the bathroom when they're working so that's what i got from the line "From the bathrooms of Angeles Vall" cause she's keeping her kid in the bathroom while she's working.
im with red on this one
I don't know. To me, this song is about a girl who left home and went out on her own, not necesarily to pursue dreams. The world is really harsh to her, and she's kinda depressed and abused by it. Montana to me is her father. The "no one sees the colour of your eyes..." bit is more like "no one cares, no one knows who you are, but you're really beautiful" to me, kind of saying how low things have gotten, but how high they ought to be.
ok i changed my mind
'Her bones and truth show through' - She's probably not had a good meal for a while, and her starvation shows her bones and the truth of her misery.
This is one of my favorite eve6 song.
i think blindchameleon is the most correct. though i originally thought it was about prosititution too, now that i think about it their really isnt anything that suggests it directly.
the thing that chameleon missed most was that its just as much about substance abuse as it is about being stuck trying to be discovered in hollywood, with the lines like "Drinks to quell the smell", "No one knows the secrets that you hide", and "scores along the way"
