In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. i just love the intro to this song. you can hear waves pounding against a shore and then a soft guitar sound picks up. Quorthon then begins singing using a CLEAN voice (you wouldn't expect that, but he sounds great) if you close your eyes and relax, you can feel yourself alone on a shore as the sun sets and you can see the waves pounding continously and the sound lulls you into a calm state of mind.
there is no insane speed on this song, but it is heavy and pounding and it keeps you interested for all elven minutes of the song.
