Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
I think this song is about a relationship that is full of betrayal (as it is talking about in the first few lines). I think it is also kind of describing a relationship gone wrong in which both parties have been taken advantage of or misused in some way. Awesome song, everything about it is awesome.
Wow, this sounds nothing like what you'd expect from these guys. How's that for musical growth? Anyone think Linkin Park'll be expanding their horizons that far any time soon?
This is easily my favourite Static-X song, and like a lot of them with such simple, yet strongly effective lyrics. When I listen to this song I kind of think about the emotional and embarrassing gap that appears every time you have a fight with someone you love.
Rather simple meaning, actually.
I doubt there are any double meanings in it too.
And, GhostWishing, I notice that you made that post 2 years ago but I'm still gonna point out that this is a site for lyrics interpretations- EVEN for the most simplest of songs. Even instrumental tracks get interpreted on here.
So, GhostWishing- fuck you, asshole and get a life.
Surprising how mellow Static-X can be. This is my least favorite song off of SZ, but mostly because it's so depressing, and I tend to avoid songs like that.
Whoa I really recognize some things in this song..it reminds me of a broken relationship [So I've betrayed self, so I've betrayed you] , after it broke we both didn't exactly know what to do [so what now? so what do we do?], so a gap between us began to grow [pushing you away, away from me]..It could also be possible that the relationship isn't broken yet, but they both know there's not much hope for their relationshp left..at least, that's what I think
