Bring on the Lucie (Freda Peeple) Lyrics

(Alright Boys, this is it, over the hill)

We don't care what flag you're waving
We don't even want to know your name
We don't care where you're from or where you're going
All we know is that you came
You're making all our decisions
We have just one request of you
That while you're thinking things over
Here's something you just better do

Free the people now
Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now
Free the people now
Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now

Well we were caught with our hands in the air
Don't despair paranoia is everywhere
We can shake it with love when we're scared
So let's shout it aloud like a prayer

Free the people now
Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now
Free the people now
Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now

We understand your paranoia
But we don't want to play your game
You think you're cool and know what you are doing
666 is your name
So while you're jerking off each other
You better bear this thought in mind
Your time is up you better know it
But maybe you don't read the signs

Free the people now
Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now
Free the people now
Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now

Well you were caught with your hands in the kill
And you still got to swallow your pill
As you slip and you slide down the hill
On the blood of the people you killed

Stop the killing (Free the people now)
Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now
Stop the killing (Free the people now)
Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now

Lucie is short for Lucifer. I think the phrase "bring on the Lucie" means that things are so bad that it seems as if the apocalypse (and the Devil) have arrived. The song is about critcizing society, mostly governments, for their evil ways. If this isn't going to stop, we might as well bring on the Lucie.

@joegoody I think it was more likely a reference Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds which he re-referenced in 'I am the Walrus' - '... Like Lucy in the sky ..' and Lennon accepting the drug metaphor - it means bring on the drugs.

What does "Lucie" refer to? Anyone know? Person's name perhaps? Guessing since it's capitalized.

What a delightful decision to use this song during the closing credits of Children of Men; it really works when it comes in after the sounds of the children playing fades.

I am in love with this song. It talks about diversity I believe and he wants to celebrate it instead of getting caught up with where your from, where your going, etc.

Bring on the Lucy in the Sky? I'm not sure what it would mean in the context of this song, other than LSD as a means of elevating the consciousness. I think it was Grace Slick and the Jefferson Airplane who wanted to dose the Nixon White House. Trish Nixon went to school with Grace. Their invitation was withdrawn when Nixon's team researched the Airplane and found out they were somewhat subversive (or maybe the Nixon bugs, that he was known to use a lot, turned up the plot).

My Opinion

I'm not sure this song is connected to "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds".
