I think it was Grace Slick and the Jefferson Airplane who wanted to dose the Nixon White House. Trish Nixon went to school with Grace. Their invitation was withdrawn when Nixon's team researched the Airplane and found out they were somewhat subversive (or maybe the Nixon bugs, that he was known to use a lot, turned up the plot).
