Vibrate

One of the more simpler songs on this album. It's cute, endearing, and i'm sure the actual meaning is pretty clear. My favorite part of this song is the bass plucking that underlies pretty much the whole thing. Seems to go perfectly with the song. :)

In a 2004 San Francisco concert he said it was about a street hustler he fell for.

So it's about the oldest profession using one of our newest technologies.

I'm watching for the RSS or Blackberry version. :=)

Yep, in the Rufus special I watched on Trio (San Francisco), Rufus said this: "Picture this...a boy (me), lonely, walking bar to bar searching for a Go-Go dancer I had spent on night with...with my phone in my pocket...on VIBRATE! It's a true story, folks."

Some of this work was done in the studio; on his release from the clinic he threw himself into Want One and Want Two. The songs inhabit his self-analysis; some, like the haunting 'My Phone's on Vibrate' - 'the story of a boy, me, walking from bar to bar trying to find a go-go dancer I had spent one night with'

This song IS my ringtone! The irony of "my phone's on vibrate for you" as an audible ringer just kills me! XD

Anywho, I adore this song. It's so simple yet elegant. And I love the lines "My phone's on vibrate for you But still I never ever feel from you Pinocchio's now a boy Who wants to turn back into a toy" Gotta love the inspiration for this song!! Silly Rufus. :]
