Oblivion Lyrics

A double minded one
Gazing into two reflections
Who cannot recognize
The vessel or the messenger

Yeah!

Obedience gone and somewhere
Left in the distance
New wilderness
Outstretched hand, broken wrist
Just a little taste of everything you would miss
Could you turn your back on this?

Fight, (fight)
For our tomorrow
Fall, (to stand)
Surrender, to follow (2x)

Whoa
It's all
All we'll ever have
Whoa
It's all
All we'll ever need

From somewhere far, far away:
(I Will avenge, I will repay)
A distant voice from some familiar place
(Drive it home in me, pull it out from me)
"Let go the anchor
Let got the deadweight.
(I will repay, I will avenge),
And I'll change what's in remiss"

Fight, (fight)
For our tomorrow
Fall, (to stand)
Surrender, to follow (2x)

Whoa
It's all
All we'll ever have
Whoa
It's all
All we'll ever need

Will I find home in
This beautiful oblivion?
No meaning
No solace
No comfort
No justice
These thoughts I've held in failure
My paper champion, false savior

"You think the answer lies within
When your heart betrays you?"

Oh yeah, yeah
Oh yeah, yeah

From somewhere far, far away:
(I Will avenge, I will repay)
A distant voice from some familiar place
(Drive it home in me, pull it out from me)
"Let go the anchor
Let got the deadweight.
(I will repay, I will avenge),
And I'll change what's in remiss"

Fight, (fight)
For our tomorrow
Fall, (to stand)
Surrender, to follow (2x)

Whoa
It's all
All we'll ever have
Whoa
It's all
All we'll ever need

It's all
All we'll ever have
It's all
All we'll ever need (2x)

We think that we are safe and comfortable in our world right here but really it's just an "Oblivion"

"From somewhere far, far away: (I Will avenge, I will repay)" This is what lot's of people would say to do. Get revenge, get back at people who treat you poorly. But that's someplace "far, far away"

"A distant voice from some familiar place (Drive it home in me, pull it out from me)" Although this message seems small "distant" is feels "familiar" and resonates with us. This is really the way to live.

Andrew sings "Will I find home in This beautiful oblivion? No meaning No solace No comfort No justice These thoughts I've held in failure My paper champion, false savior

'You think the answer lies within When your heart betrays you?'" Lot's of times we think that we are at home here in this "beautiful" earth with live in but this song says that's just an oblivion. There isn't really anything of substance. We want to be independent and trust our heart but what's the point: "You think the answer lies within When your heart betrays you?"

"Let go the anchor Let got the deadweight" We don't have to try to get back at everyone who has wronged us. We can just let go of that "anchor" holding us there.

Sirsteven good job. Also i'm thinking of like a picture of the Israelites fleeing from Egypt. They were always double minded with God and had a hard time turning their back on Egypt once they got in the wilderness. once they got there, the only thing they could do was rely on God. They had nothing else and that's exactly where he wanted them (and us). So Fight for our tomorrow makes me think of the battles we have when we use his word. Fall to stand surrender to follow is opposite of what we think we should do. But surrender to God and he will take care of you though you want to take care of yourself. And all the parts in parenthesis ("I will avenge I will repay.") are like God saying if you let go of this control you want over your life and put your trust in me I will do this for you.
