Dum dum dum dum dum-dum
Do...
Do... Oooh...

You're still captivating even though it's been so long
You used to love me tell me baby what went wrong
'Cause now you march to the beat of a different song

Try to understand that we needed space
But everywhere I turn I see your face
I've been waiting for you to come home
'Cause I don't want to be alone
I still love you

Why did you take away your love
When did you think to just give up
How am I supposed to carry on now
Without you
You are my light

I have changed girl since I last saw you
When you left you don't know what you put me through
But my heart's still racing just being next to you

I can't escape the magic in your eyes
Is there a way to make you realize
There's no one more special to my heart
But you want us to be apart
I still love you

Why did you take away your love, baby
When did you think to just give up, yea
How am I supposed to carry on now
Without you

You were my world
You meant everything to me
You're the air I breathe
The song I sing
You were my queen, I was your king
But if we can try to work it
We'll show the world what love is about
Baby come on cause I can't take no more
Of this loneliness
And emptiness

Why did you take away your love
(Take away your love)
When did you think to just give up
(Oh...)
How am I supposed to carry on now
Without you

Why did you take away your love
When did you think to just give up
How am I supposed to carry on
Without you
You are my
You are my light

Oh, I've just recently discovered this song and it's so moving. I love the armonies in here and how emotional Justin's voice sounds.

I think it talks about being stuck on the same person you love, over and over. He can't understand why they can't be together and can't imagine a life without her forever again...

This sounds sincere, and so I'm in love with it. I love the "Why, When, How?" idea and I can relate to the feeling completely...

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
