This song remind me of those gothic romance novels. In a way it's quite dark, both lyically and musically, but at the same time it's so amazing and romantic. It's about love; loving someone more than anything else in the world and being prepared to do anything in order for it to be returned. He's saying, "I'd rather go to hell and back than have you stop loving me. Because nothing means more to me than you and your love, and I'd rather die a million deaths than live without it."

Incredible song. This song intrigues me. I feel that it isn't just about a "lover" but more about someone that you are very close to, wheather it be a husband, wife, relative, friend or even God. The first verse explains the "relationship" part with this person..."it's the kind of thing you get when you're not looking it's the kind of thing you had from the start," meaning that there has always been a natural connection. Second and third verse seems to show confusion from this person (confuses me too lol) And finally the chorus simply shows that he/she will always love this person/God and hopes never to have "there love taken from them."

I dont know. I am not religious I'm not really sure if religion is even supposed to work like that.
I think this song (& album) speak of vulnerabilty. with the line "Take away the freedoms I wanted I understand". He's willing to give up who is to be with the person in the song. they way he sings the chorus he sounds almost like he is begging as he pleads don't take your love away. I think this song along with the rest of the album really speaks true volumes to how we all get in a vulnerable and "nude" state after losing someone that meant a lot OR had a hold over us.
Love just happened to him. He didn't necessarily do anything to deserve it, but now that he has it he can't live without it and is willing to go through all sorts of abuses for her.
