Ecstasy

Umm... what does it mean? Anybody? If you take it literally it seems to say that he's on ecstacy, and in love with a girl that makes him feel the same way the drug does. (and that he'll corrupt her)

Probably, only to add: "I have a secret", he's in love with her and maybe haven't told her yet, so thats the secret. I see no way but taking it literally.

my poison is my boy and he makes me feel like im on ecstacy hes like a poison but a poison that keeps me alive and every time he gets drunk i take his innocence from him because he will tell me anything and i use it to my advantage but my secret is i will never have enough of him.

To me he is comparing a female to the drug. That's rather obvious. Also, I always hear "I need to go get stoned," not "I need to go down slow." But this song is deeper than that. Take the line "the poisin is the cure sometimes," here he is subtley letting us know that there is something deeper psychologically or emotionally that is being "covered up" with this woman/drug. He's using them to escape something else he is feeling or insecure about. I think that's what the secret is. It being "written in the stars" is a pun. Part of it referencing being "high," the other part of it meaning destiny/fate, think Romeo and Juliet. I think he feels destined/fated to feel and be this way, to have to hide his feelings, to have to keep this secret locked inside.

Nah, you shouldnt think to hard with this song. Its rather obvious that its about the pure ecstacy of sex. "Baby baby baby, you're like ecstacy Maybe maybe maybe that's because I am on it"... basically saying that he/she is attracted to someone physically claiming there like "ecstacy". Just dont think to hard with this song becuase its mainly about the pure physical enjoyment we get out of sex, nothing else. Jon is quite hysterical with his lyrics sometimes.

Without the vocal, the sound of this song alone communicates a conflict, a very deep pain. We almost don't need the lyrics to tell us he attempts to resolve it variously through sex, substances, or power dynamics in a relationship. So many people have this same "secret," it's no secret at all. The uninitiated who encounter someone like this learn soon enough, and they do lose some of their innocence in the revelation. This song is not about ecstasy; it is the sound of loss and the miles and the time spent trying to make sense of it even as they are the cause of loss to others.
