Everything has been said before
There's nothing left to say anymore
When it's all the same
You can ask for it by name

Babble babble bitch bitch
Rebel rebel party party
Sex sex sex and don't forget the violence
Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely
Stick your stupid slogan in
Everybody sing along

Babble babble bitch bitch
Rebel rebel party party
Sex sex sex and don't forget the violence
Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely
Stick your stupid slogan in
Everybody sing

Are you motherfuckers ready
For the new shit?
Stand up and admit
Tomorrow's never coming
This is the new shit
Stand up and admit
Do we get it? no
Do we want it? yeah
This is the new shit
Stand up and admit

Babble babble bitch bitch
Rebel rebel party party
Sex sex sex and don't forget the violence
Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely
Stick your stupid slogan in
Everybody sing along

Everything has been said before
There's nothing left to say anymore
When it's all the same
You can ask for it by name
Are you motherfuckers ready
For the new shit?
Stand up and admit,
Tomorrow's never coming
This is the new shit
Stand up and admit
Do we get it? no
Do we want it? yeah
This is the new shit
Stand up and admit

And now it's you know who
I got the you know what
I stick it you know where
You know why, you don't care
And now it's you know who
I got the you know what
I stick it you know where
You know why, you don't care

And now it's you know who
I got the you know what
I stick it you know where
You know why, you don't care
And now it's you know who
I got the you know what
I stick it you know where
You know why, you don't care

Babble babble bitch bitch

    My Interpretation

This song is obviously mocking the mainstream music industry today.

Below he seems to be saying that this is all they sing about these days. Where has the real music disappeared into a sex, party driven society?

"Babble babble bitch bitch Rebel rebel party party Sex sex sex and don't forget the "violence" Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely Stick your STUPID SLOGAN in: Everybody sing along. Babble babble bitch bitch Rebel rebel party party Sex sex sex and don't forget the "violence" Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely Stick your STUPID SLOGAN in: Everybody sing along,"

Below I think Marilyn Manson is basically admiting that he is making song about how there is nothing left to say when people keep repeating their monotonous shit and how eventually the "good" music will fade into the background.

"Everything has been said before There's nothing left to say anymore When it's all the same You can ask for it by name."

To me this song is about consumerism in general

“Everything has been said before There's nothing left to say anymore When it's all the same You can ask for it by name”

This part talks about how nothing is original anymore And how he is not saying anything new just repackaged .nihilism

This next to verses are the slogan the pitch. talking about the message isn’t selling the message it’s the package or the commercial that really matters. You give it the catchy slogan and a little sex and you can have someone buy something they are diametrically opposed to (Jewish persons / Nazism)

The next part is about the advertisers flaunting their power in front of you It’s new(he already told us nothings new anymore) Do you want it, yes Do you know what it is, no But you want it anyway yes Why because we told you, that you wanted it

It amazes me how everyone commenting says that this song doesn't have a meaning, that it's just mindless headbanging. You say that this song was written for stupid people, but you clearly aren't intelligent enough to realize just what this song means.

The song is about the negative aspects of today's society. Sex, drugs, alcohol, gangs, all of those things; it's saying how nowadays more and more people are throwing their life away.

"And now it's "you know who" I got the "you know what" I stick it "you know where" You know why, you don't care."

That part reflects how all anyone ever talks about anymore is sex.

I think this song is about modern day music and how it's all about sex, violence, partying, etc. It's saying how it is all the same, the music never changes or has any meaning to it whatsoever.

"Babble babble bitch bitch Rebel rebel party party Sex sex sex and don't forget the "violence" Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely Stick your stupid slogan in, Everybody sing along"

I think this is giving an example of what music (probably rap, pop, hip-hop, etc.) is about. They are just "babbling" on and on, it's emotionless music.

At the same time though, I see this song being about drugs or even sex. The "new shit" is the drugs.

"And now it's "you know who" I got the "you know what" I stick it "you know where" You know why, you don't care."

Basically, he's the 'you know who' (the drug dealer), he has the 'you know what' (the drugs), he sticks it 'you know where' (possibly a needle or something), they know that why they are taking it and they know it could be dangerous but at the time they don't care. I also think this song could be about sex... he has the 'you know what, he sticks it you know where', etc. I doubt it but it's possible.

Very appropriate title. I can listen to the first 31 seconds over and over. This is rock 'n roll.

marilyn manson's "suttle" (although, this one's just plain fuckin' obvious) lyrics directed towards his less intellectual fans makes him pretty fuckin cool++ in my books.

do you even realise he's mocking people like you in this song? it's great.

i can just imagine him and skold trying to make this song; 'poppy' (ie 'hit' style song) catchy tune, along with lyrics that the average listener would have no clue, here words like 'motherfucker', 'new shit', 'sex', and think its rad.

i'd kill to be at some stupid 'goth' party (generalising 'goths', some are elite cool) where they're all singing this to be 'cool'. i think i'd probably piss my pants.

I agree with the second interperation... I think that most of the CD is like that, as well. I'm not sure if I should embrace it for what it is or dislike it for its simplicity and at times, seeminly idiocy.

he opened the show last night with this track. i was supprised to hear that it sounded the same as on the cd. i didn't think he was going be able to do this song well live, intrument wise. but the band totally pulled it off. great song.

I think rather than being directed towards the fans in general, this is towards the 'fans'.The people who have no idea what he's about or dont really know much about him. Now, I'm not saying I'm a person who does feel I understand his music completely because I am not that much of a follower of his. I do think this song is more for those people who act like they love him and adore him completely but have no idea what he is about. I do agree with you Karl, most definately.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
