Team Black Lyrics
I don't even like the taste of blood
But it was all they had for sale today
And this is hunger that just won't go away
I was taught to drink my fill of you
You were taught to take, take, take from me
The more I taste the more I need
The more it (you) makes me ill
You are a sight for hungry eyes today
I am needing more of you inside of me
I am nothing more than what they've made of me
And when my objects become used
I throw them all away
And when I need another fill
I'll turn to you again
But it was all they had for sale today
And this is hunger that just won't go away
You were taught to take, take, take from me
The more it (you) makes me ill
I am needing more of you inside of me
I am nothing more than what they've made of me
I throw them all away
And when I need another fill
I'll turn to you again

This song refers to anything we seek to fill our emptiness outside of our relationship with Christ. In particular, the media feeds us all this information telling us that beer, sex, music, etc. is what we need and we have no right to say otherwise.
Well, like the song says, whatever the object is (beer, cd's, movies, video games, women) we throw them away and look for something else, when the spring of living water is there for us to enjoy for eternity.
read my post in Little Green Men to catch up
Stan has lost his faith in God and the Church, He turns to alchohol now to fill that void. or any other kind of a 'temporary fill'
I agree...why do you keep using stan? In Christ, The Happiness Salesman
It's a crazy thought though isnt it? How the Savior makes his blood synonomous with alcohol in the church...I dont even know how else to comment on that. Especially when drinking is not a sin, but getting drunk IS. Like, abusing what he's given us is bad for us...I dont even want to get into that right now haha. God Bless
