Let's Forget About It Lyrics

I told you I was sorry.
I told you I was wrong.
I said it was an accident
And don't tell anyone.

But you love to circle 'round and 'round,
You're so misunderstood.
Yeah, you love to circle 'round and 'round,
And you know that we should forget about it.

Let's forget about it.

You lied about how much you knew.
I thought you were my friend.
You lied upon the mattress.
C'mon tell me where you've been.
You lied about this night apart.
You lied about the room.
If you're gonn have to lie to me, then
Let's forget about it.

Let's forget about it.

I'll stop crying on the mountain that we made from the molehill where we spilt the milk.
I'll stop crying on the mountain that we made from the molehill wehre we spilt the milk.

So you say this never happened,
Perhaps not the way I thought.
Did I throw this out of focus,
Or was it just the way we fought?
That it seemed to me you took this girl,
But you swear to God it's not.

Let's forget about it.
Let's forget about it.

I'll stop crying, if you'll stop.
I'll stop crying, if you'll stop.
I'll stop crying, if you'll stop lying to me.

This is an Awsome song. But I can honestly say I have no idea what it's about. But possibly some kind of bad relasionship???

she made a mistake and he won't let her live it down because he just loves to instigate conflict. he also lies to her and then claims that he never does any of this so she just kind of feels defeated and decides its not worth it anymore.

i also like that little chunk of wordplay about turning molehills into mountains and crying over spilled milk.

i think the first verse may actually describe an abusive relationship, but how the abused take the opinion they were wrong. and she's realising what a creep he is

[I told you I was sorry. I told you I was wrong. I said it was an accident And don't tell anyone.]

The first two paragraphs is about how she made a mistake, and he keeps harping on it. She just wants them to just forget about her mistake.

[You lied about how much you knew. I thought you were my friend. You lied upon the mattress. C'mon tell me where you've been. You lied about this night apart. You lied about the room. If you're gonn have to lie to me, then Let's forget about it.]

This chunk is about him lying to her about her infidelity. And she want to forget about this too -- but the "forget about it" this time is different from the previous one. This time, she knows he's lying, and if he insists on continuing to lie, she doesn't want to hear it. In other words, she sick and tired of it.

[I'll stop crying, if you'll stop lying to me.]
