Skin Lyrics
Well I know you don't know the reason
And it's cold, a sign of the season
Cause you're old, and battered and beaten
And we'll grow, til we hit the ceiling, yeah
Oh we better, get away
Send a letter, bombs away
You're covered in my skin
I couldn't imagine anyone else
Come up for the weekend
I couldn't imagine why you would save yourself
Well it's gone and it's not returning
And your clothes and pictures are burning
Cause you're old, and battered and beaten
And we'll grow, til we hit the ceiling, yeah
Oh we better, get away
Send a letter, bombs away
You're covered in my skin
I couldn't imagine anyone else
Come up for the weekend
I couldn't imagine why you would save yourself
You're covered in my skin
I couldn't imagine anyone else
Come up for the weekend
I couldn't imagine why you would save yourself
And it's cold, a sign of the season
Cause you're old, and battered and beaten
And we'll grow, til we hit the ceiling, yeah
Send a letter, bombs away
I couldn't imagine anyone else
Come up for the weekend
I couldn't imagine why you would save yourself
And your clothes and pictures are burning
Cause you're old, and battered and beaten
And we'll grow, til we hit the ceiling, yeah
Send a letter, bombs away
I couldn't imagine anyone else
Come up for the weekend
I couldn't imagine why you would save yourself
I couldn't imagine anyone else
Come up for the weekend
I couldn't imagine why you would save yourself

By far one of my favourite songs off Saturate, I see this song as describing a long-running relationship that's gone cold and is ending, and the singer not wanting it to end, but also knowing that it has to end. This is my interpretation of the whole song (of course, many other interpretations are possible)
(Official lyrics from http://hollywoodrecords.go.com/breakingbenjamin/) WELL I KNOW YOU DON'T KNOW THE REASON AND IT'S COLD A SIGN OF THE SEASON
YOU'RE COVERED IN MY SKIN I COULDN'T IMAGINE ANYONE ELSE
WELL IT'S GONE AND IT'S NOT RETURNING
I think you have the best description of the song..... and yeah I pretty much agree with what you say about it.

i don't know this bad well, but i think that alot of their songs have to deal with sex and young lust. i think by being covered in someone's skin is to be laying naked on top or beside them. i think the singer is kind of touch up on a relationship that sort went up and down but the defining characteristic is that he doesn't want to find anyone else and despite whatever causes him to burn her cloaths and picture, he still wants the comfort and solice of the sexual intamacies of a certin woman in his life.
I agree with osubuckeye, but I think that it's not that the woman is older, it's that she's getting old to him. 'and it's cold, a sign of the season' perhaps means their relationship is getting cold, but they stay together for some reason. I agree with osubuckeye about them wanting to end it but can't.
okay...this is one of my favorite songs from my favorite band. and this is my interpretation...
so someone is in some sort of relationship with someone else and it's been going on for a long time. both people in this relationship want it to end, but they can never end it, but they really want to, but they just can't, and the feelings keep coming in waves...the lines "Well I know you don't know the reason, And it's cold, a sign of the season" and "Well it's gone and it's not returning, And your clothes and pictures are burning" show how they really don't have anything left for each other, but when he says "I couldn't imagine anyone else," it's like they don't want anyone but each other. Hence, they're stuck not wanting to be together and not being able to be apart.
but that's only what i took from it, agree or disagree as you wish :)
this has to be one of breaking benjamin's songs its so good. not completely sure what its about though
its just one of those songs with little meanings but good sound, its got a meaning deep down i bet but its 1 of those 1's u really gutta put ur mind 2
yeah, it is one of those songds that doesn't have much meaning, but I love it.
This song is amazing, Id heard of BB before this song but I heard this on the radio and I was hooked instantly. I mean, the guitar in this song is amazing!
This is one of my all-time favorite Breaking Benjamin songs. It kicks major ass! I can't believe more people do not know about how talented these four guys are!
It's about a long distance/relationship with an older woman that really is devoid of any meaning.
The guy doesnt understand why the girl keeps coming back for more, and he doesnt really understand why he keeps coming back to her. The whole, "We know we better.... get away. Send a letter.... bombs away."
It's like they both know doing it is stupid, but they keep doing it anyways. They both want to end it but they cant.
If you've ever been in one of these kind of relationships you'll undrstand, otherwise it probably makes no sense.
