Farewell To Arms Lyrics
I saw your sacred page, it isn't over yet
farewell to arms, it's time
goodnight, goodbye
farewell to arms, it's time
did your feelings get hurt?
i don't want to irk you,
but you're making this worse.
were you thinkin somethin like
"I wish I wasn't here"?
then you bowed as we all cheered
were you just as bitter then?
did you tremble as you penned
the handbook for the quitter?
is this makin you more bitter?
you know we all have been burned
if you turn the other cheek they'll crucify you
this is one thing that I've learned
say "forgiveness for the weak".
recruit your own platoons
to run salt in your own wounds.
hold yourself and close your eyes,
now you are your only prize,
'cause you'd rather have this prison
than to breathe the word 'forgiven'.
farewell to arms, it's time
goodnight, goodbye
farewell to arms, it's time
all this hatred? say farewell to arms.
i'm not allowed to say much about this song - ie. what it's about, when it'll be released - but I wanted to at least post the lyrics for people to read if they want them. It is a fantastic song, but it hasn't been released just yet.
ooo, hey sean! darn i was gonna say what it was about :P oh well, it's a secret
Hey look its sean. Wow. Yay for frenzy boardies =)
I was looking for these lyrics everywhere and Aaron refused to give them to me. Thanks sweetie.
i find this song to be an amazing challenge for myself cause the church pisses me off so much, but it is about Christ, not the structures we have made the church to be. THanks to FIF for keeping me on track here (-=
I love this song, it is amazing and powerful. These original lyrics are far better than the ones released on the album. I wish they had kept them, I love this song.
erk... i can say i'm rather glad they released teh other version...
I've always admired teh fact that five iron kept their lyrics clean...
Wow I still can't quite figure this whole song, but I think it is about a mentalitly that is in the church that Reese doesn't like. I don't know if he is speaking of a specific situation, but I think I can relate. My church just went through a huge split, for the third time. Each side claiming God wanted what they wanted. Obviously God didn't controdict himself, I think people's selfish ambishions dictate what they think God is saying. Nobody won in the church split. Like the civil war, it was a war between ourselves. Even know, we refuse to forgive. I am not perfect, I regret so much that I did during that time, but I think it is time for us to move on. So many churches are disunified, it is disgusting. Our enemy is each other, and though we don't know it, we are siding with satan. Change must happen.
YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome song, but what's the difference between the two versions?
This song seems to me to be about giving up on God because of a bad experience with a church.
I have seen it happen.
