First I have to say that In Flames really kick ass I loved them the fist time I herd them (pinball map) on the radio. They deserve more appreciation then they have gotten. I live in Sweden and only a few people I know have heard of them. You would think that in their own county they would be known at least. Maybe it’s just the town I live in. I've been listening to their new album almost nonstop these past days after the release and it is really wonderful! Just like everything else In Flames make. Almost every song on the album is a masterpiece. It’s a little different from the rest of their albums but it still has that “magic” In Flames touch to it. I think this song is about people who are stubborn and refuse to change their old ways and ideas of things. Maybe it is directed to people who want to live in their own world and don’t accept today’s changes in society; they just think everything was better before. Basically the song is probably about that times change and you should keep an open mind to make the best of it.
Anyway, I love the song and the new album and In Flames… In Flames RULE!!!

In Flames kick a$$ this is a darn good song of an excelent album. they deserve so much more recognition than they get. When u get linkin park getting weeks on mtv2 and one in flames vid a month, it just shows the injustice in the music industry either way, ive discovered them and ive reaped the rewards :)
You are correct about the stubborness and of the old ways. However, they want to unify societies, destroy the barries that separate us. Reroute to remain... find a path away from our current situations (war and terrorism and such) to continue living.
I would say that the entire album "Reroute to Remain" is very thematic. Many of the songs deal with things changing.
I agree nemuu,i to think that this song is about the evolution the band have underwent to keep the sound fresh adn to challenge the percerptions of what they could do as a band.These guys showcase real musical talent.It may not be at the level of Carcass,but fuck,these guys can make some cool noise.The twin guitars on this song own.
