So it’s a new day
But it all feels old
It’s a good life
That’s what I’m told
But everything it all just feels the same
At my high school
It felt more to me
Like a jail cell, a penitentiary
But I think they thought it would never end

Cuz I don’t ever wanna be like you
I don’t wanna do the things you do
I’m never gonna hear the words you say
And I don’t ever wanna
No I don’t ever wanna be you
Don’t wanna be just like you
What I’m sayin is
This is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
You, Don’t wanna be you

go to college
a university
get a real job
thats what they said to me
but i could never live the way they want
im gonna get by
and just do my time
im gonna step up
while the others get in line
im just a minor threat so pay no mind
Do you really want to be like them?
Do you really wanna be another trend?
Are you gonna be part of that crowd?

Cuz I don’t ever wanna
No, I don’t ever wanna be you
Don’t wanna be just like you
What I’m sayin is
This is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
You, don’t wanna be you

Shake it once that’s fine
Shake it twice that’s ok
Shake it 3 times you’re playing with yourself again

You, don’t wanna be just like you
what I’m sayin is
This is the anthem
Throw all you’re hands up
Jump if you feel me
Sing if you’re with me
Yea, don’t wanna be just like you
What I’m sayin is this is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
Jump if you feel me
Sing if you’re with me
Another loser anthem
Another loser anthem
Another loser anthem
Another loser anthem

All you people who claim to be "Punk" even Rancid isn't real punk. If you want real Punk, listen to the Sex Pistols, The Clash, New York Dolls, Suicidal Tendencies, Bad Religion or early Misfits stuff. THAT is punk music. Oh and about the talent stuff, try listening to JS Bach or if your an idiot and don't know who that is try Michael Angelo. Thats real talent

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
