Yeah
Here, we go

It's a new day
But it all feels old
It's a good life
That's what I'm told
But every day, it all just feels the same

At my high school
It felt more to me
Like a jail cell
A penitentiary
My time spent there it only made me see

That I don't ever wanna be like you
I don't wanna do the things you do
I'm never gonna hear the words you say

And I don't ever wanna
I don't ever wanna be
You, don't wanna be just like you
What I'm sayin' is, this is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
You, don't wanna be you

Go to college
Or university
Get a real job
That's what they said to me
But I could never, live the way they want

I'm gonna get by
And just do my time
Out of step while
They all get in line
I'm just a minor threat so pay no mind

Do you really wanna to be like them?
Do you really wanna be another trend?
Do you wanna be part of that crowd?

'Cause I don't ever wanna
I don't ever wanna be, you
Don't wanna be just like you
Oh what I'm saying is, this is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
You, don't wanna be you

Shake it once that's fine
Shake it twice that's okay
Shake it three times
Your playin' with your self again

(You, don't wanna be just like you)
What I'm saying is, this is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
Y'all got to feel me
Sing if you're with me
You, don't wanna be just like you
(Be just like you)

This is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
Y'all got to feel me
Sing if you're with me

Another loser anthem
(Woah)
Another loser anthem
(Woah)
Another loser anthem
(Woah)
Another loser anthem

excuse me, but you guys have no reason to be in here trashing good charlotte because of your personal oppinion of their clothes, style, or anything else. this is not a HATE GC message board. you have no reason for writing all this crap on SONGMEANINGS.NET. im not saying i totally agree or disagree with any of you, but there are tons of message boards all over the place for you to go and insult bands and their fans, but this isnt one of them. all that is asked of you is to state "WHAT THIS SONG MEANS TO YOU" so will you all please just shut your faces? i realize that no one read this, and if you did yor about to cuss me out now, but GET A LIFE. i dont care if youre an actual "hard-core punk" or anything else. your first problem is spelling. if you want to insult someone by callin them a "poser" youre wrong.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song "Fortnight" by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word "fortnight" shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
