Hey love, where you going to?
You're not sleeping anymore, you're just trying to.
Stay love, where you running to?
Awful happens all the time, don't let it kill you.

Easily with me I feel as fast as I can see..
Afraid of the horror stories I fall down on my knees.

Come away, come away
From all these things unheard
If a chosen word has got you cornered
Then it's a lesson learned
Like close the book before it burns you.
Come away, come away
From all these things unseen
At the price you paid I promise you won't believe anything they say
Belief will only disappoint you

In case you never noticed the path you never chose has chosen you.
Afraid to face and break it.
The secret

    My Interpretation

I decided to write a letter based on my interpretation of this song. It’s as follows:

Hey Love, You can’t walk around with your eyes closed, no matter if you’d prefer not to deal with what’s going on. Life will always throw tests at you; they’re best addressed promptly because if you don’t then you’ll always be looking over your shoulder wondering when they will catch up to you. When they do catch up to you it’s probably going to happen all at once and at that point it going to much harder to keep your head above water.

You’re terribly quick to be emotional, regularly jumping to impulsive conclusions based on very little information. If you would simply pause and think about the plausibility of your fears I think you’d be able to free yourself from the cage of fear you trap yourself in. I’m offering to help you…to bring you into the light (of reason) so that you can see that there really nothing to fear. I’m not sure how you manage because when I hear all of the things you worry about it starts to make me wonder if there is some truth to this nonsense. You aren’t stuck in this cycle forever, all you have you do it choose to be free of it. Learn your lesson already! Because I’m concerned that if you don’t act swiftly there will be damage that can’t be undone. Take my hand, let me guide you, I don’t share your same fears. I want to show you the way.

You’ve already spent so much time and energy listening to what everyone else has to say. Now is as a good time as ever to quiet your mind and listen to what your heart says. Everything else you’ve tried has only lead to more disappointment, you can’t deny it. So why not give it try?

Everything happens for a reason, why should this situation be any different? We both know you never asked for any of this, but since when did we ever get to control fate? You’ve been given a chance to show yourself, me, and the rest of the world what you’re made of. I know that you have what it takes to meet this challenge head on and come out on top. This is the time to prove to yourself, if no one else, that you’ve learned from mistakes in the past and that you are ready to move forward; stronger than ever. For once stand your ground! Please for the sake of sanity no more running!

I’m begging you. You must take that first step; open your eyes so that you can face what you fear. Pull that blanket off of your head, put your feet on the floor, stand up and walk proudly to meet what life has in-store for you. If nothing else at least you can say that you would not allow yourself to just lay there and be beaten. Instead you can have the satisfaction in knowing that even though you knew what to expect you acted with fearlessness and courage.

Ultimately it’s up to you, my dear, which direction you take…which path you choose to follow. Be safe, and know that I am here to help guide you- but you must reach out and take my hand, I can not do that for you.

    All my love,

    M

That's my favorite line of the song, snorkel. Definitely another gorgeous song by Jason. He's incredible when it comes to putting words and music together.

i'm going to be cliche and say that "In case you never noticed the path you never chose has chosen you." is quite possibly the best line of the song and i think though sometimes a little misguided, jason mraz has some genuinely beautiful, vulnerable songs. i think his new album is borderline shitty but songs like "hey love" always remind me how much i like him.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
