Yeah i think this song is the best song on Animosity! but i guess other people dont think that D;
I think this song is just talking about someone that he loved but never gave much time to notice her because of other things and now that she left or is leaving he's starting to feel guilty bout the things he did and doesnt want her to leave. It's hard to say who he is talking about, but by experience of my relationship i feel it might be his mother.

This is a great song, and Animosity is an excellent CD. I wouldn't go as far as to say this is the best on the CD, I believe Xmas Day is. That's my opinion, but Sevendust is kickass in concert, and in all their CDs.
i think this is a song about someone who has a relationship with a person that they love but they cant stop thinking about a person they left behind, perhaps betrayed or cheated..
You think this was written about his mother? You're kidding, right? Or you never listened to or read the song?
As usual, I can't be 100% sure what it's really about, but it's not his mother. I can interpret it as him being with a woman who he cares about, but she doesn't quite do it for him... He still needs more, either emotionally or out of life--who the hell knows. But since she isn't all he needs, there is a TRUST issue there...
I think of this song in a similar manner...
He wishes this person... I think a gf or wife... was with him a lot, but he feels that he needs more; something that she can't give him.
"Could we find ourselves... Walking through... A field with no solitude" sounds almost as though he wanted to turn his attention to other people.
