As usual, I can't be 100% sure what it's really about, but it's not his mother. I can interpret it as him being with a woman who he cares about, but she doesn't quite do it for him... He still needs more, either emotionally or out of life--who the hell knows. But since she isn't all he needs, there is a TRUST issue there...
