There's so many people dying
You complain about your situation
What about me?
Half the world wouldn't know
What it's like to lose your seed
Maybe you can understand

(How I feel)
I cannot reach that soul
You're probably watching over us
Know that I think of you
It's killing me

The guilt has lasted years, still cry
It was all planned out
Why was I last to know?
Don't you trust in me?
The table's cold, it's too late
To make up for these mistakes
Maybe you can't understand

(How I feel)
I cannot reach that soul
You're probably watching over us
Know that I think of you
It's killing me
(How I feel)
If I would have known
I can't say what I would have done
If you could forgive
I'd like to rest with you someday

(How I feel)
I cannot reach that soul
You're probably watching over us
Know that I think of you
It's killing me
(How I feel)
If I would have known
I can't say what I would have done
If you could forgive
I'd like to rest with you someday

This song is actually about the lead singer's girlfriend getting an abortion and not telling him. I am part of the Adema Street Team and this is what he says the song is about.

Damn it, stop spreading rumors. You have the idea right, but it wasnt Marky that it happened to. It was either Tim (guitarist) or Kris (drummer). Believe me. I heard it straight from the source (Marky himself...i was on the phone with him).

He said it was one of his bandmates (he wouldn't say who), not necessarily anyone you mentioned.

What I love about this song is that it captures his dispair in being unable to express what he feels... I cannot reach that soul I can't say what I would have done The most sincere emotions cannot be expressed in words

this song reminds me of why i continue living. even though it is about his girlfriend getting an abortion, it helps me not give in. this world is getting harder and harder to fit into and easier and easier to slip away from...

This is a pretty good song to listen to when you're angery, mad, sad or upset. At least I believe so. I think it takes a lot of anger out of me. And all my friends know that I have a lot of anger. I think that this song is pretty good and from the lyrics to other songs that Adema has written it looks like the lead singer has a lot of anger and how he takes it out is in his music. If you would ask me I think that a lot of they're song have an angery toon to them. Well I just thought this was pretty good and I like it some! O well. HeHe!:) ~aMbEr*

Thats so cool cuz I thought that's what the song was all about but I had no idea I was right or even that it happened to a band member. I swear, just thinking of going through all the emotions and feelings he did makes me wanna ball out into tears. I hope this doesnt happen to me.... prolly one of my worst fears...

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
