Q&A
Leave Lyrics
I’ve informed you to leave
‘Cause I can’t afford to lose more sleep
I get ill when I get tired
So I’ll try to rest if you’ll stand guard.
Doo doo doo do, doo do do doo whoa
Doo doo doo do, doo do dooooo
I’ve informed you to leave
‘Cause I can’t stand to hear you breathe
I chew up and I choke down
Scraps you choose to leave around
Doo doo doo do, doo do do doo whoa
Doo doo doo do, doooo
Apparitions still won’t leave me alone
It’s as if you never left
How am I supposed to remember you?
When you won’t let me forget?
I’ve informed you to leave
‘Cause I can’t afford to lose more sleep
There’s your shoes, and there’s the door
Please don’t come here anymore.
Doo doo doo do, doo do do doo whoa
Doo doo doo do, doo do doooo
‘Cause I can’t afford to lose more sleep
I get ill when I get tired
So I’ll try to rest if you’ll stand guard.
Doo doo doo do, doo do dooooo
‘Cause I can’t stand to hear you breathe
I chew up and I choke down
Scraps you choose to leave around
Doo doo doo do, doooo
It’s as if you never left
When you won’t let me forget?
‘Cause I can’t afford to lose more sleep
There’s your shoes, and there’s the door
Please don’t come here anymore.
Doo doo doo do, doo do doooo

This song is very catchy that i wrote a question to Ed Robertson on bnlmusic.com and he said most of it was about strange dreams he had after his brother passed away.
According to the podcast, after his brother's death, Ed would dream that his brother was still there ("Apparition still won't leave me alone") and that he couldn't mourne him properly because it was like he was still alive ("How am I supposed to remember you when you won't let me forget?") Probably my favorite BNL lyric of all time.
somehow, this song makes me think of a college student yelling at his roommate...
ok i really need to know. does kevin really play the lead guitar on this song. if so, that would be unbelievably fantastic, and they should try it more often.
I always thought this was about a guy who was in such a bad relationship that it nearly drove him mad. I thought the second verse sort of gave that away.
pumkinhead, according to the CD booklet, kevin plays the lead electric guitar and the wah-wah guitar
TheseApples you are right! that is also on the YouTube bathroom sessions. great stuff...
