it seems to me like hes singing about a mental pain. maybe schitzophrenia. hes saying how hes caught in a rut he cant get out of, caught inside himself, only trusting himself, because he sees others as out to hurt him. the chorus about being strong is probarbly reffering to someone else he sees. he has these problems and cant seem to put up with them, but sees everyone else living their lives, and as far as he knows, putting up with the same thing as him, but dealing with it, so he wishes he was as strong as them to be able to cope with how he feels. thats just how i see it though

Hm. I found this song creepy, then weird, then cool, and now awesome. 'Worst Metal Song Ever' my ass. My... third favorite off of that album. 1)Make Me Bad 2)Dirty 3) Let's Get This Party Started. I think it's about something else... like the sick fuckers that were mean to him, the record company maybe, that made him a bit insane... so he feels bad about himself, but comes back for revenge on them by making THEM fucked up...

"So I fall face down in a rut I can't seem to get out of" - He's at the bottom of his conscience, feeling as though there is no hope of ever getting back up.

"Please wake me, please give me some of it back, the feelings I had"- He's begging for calmness, the good feelings that were taken from him, he is begging to be awoken from the kind of life he lives now, like a dream...

"Sometimes I wish I could be strong like you, it doesn't matter... Each time I wake I'm somehow feeling the truth I can't handle"- He wishes to rise up against those that have caused them these feelings, to be as strong as them; to break one down and steal ones feelings must take great mental strength... Every day he wakes to this horrific world around him, to know that his world of calmness is gone and the truthful world of worry is before him, and it's so painful he can't handle it.

Kinda what I got out of that ^^'

"Let's get this party started! You make me feel insane! I want to be the one to make myself sane!"- ...Well, He's insane because of whoever, and he wants to reconstruct his world and make himself feel better, to feel calm...

"Time is ticking, it makes me feel content for what I have inside/Constant paranioa surrounds me, everyone I see is out to get me"- He had revenge planned, his sanity fading as time passes, feeling better for what is planned, the closer it gets... Now he feels as though not only is whoever trying to tear him down, but now everyone else is, too, in his mind.

So... that's kinda what i got out of the song. Weird, I know, but I don't really think it was about his ex... My Gift to You was for his ex... hm... it's just my opinion, though... I love this song anyway, whether it be about insanity or his ex-wife. Creepy and good.

It's a truly great song, the way it builds up! I always thought it was "To make myself sigh". But, heck, what do I know? LGTPS rocks!

No deep meaning?

to me it sounds like hes talking to someone about how hes either into drugs and alcohol or hes talking to his ex-wife saying he wishes he could refrain from fucking around while on tour when she has the same possiblitys"i wish i could be strong like you"

now that i listen to it again it actually sounds like after he just got divorced when he says " please give me some of me back the feelings i had" and "i wish i could be strong like you" it sounds like his wife or who ever he was writting this song about was content on being without him but he wasn't

This was the first korn song i heard and i loved it.I was like into pop and rap at the time so it was really weird me LOVING this song. Then i heard some more songs by korn and my life changed.

eeyore could be right, he might say "sane" instead of "sign", but "sign" could also fit with a divorce scenario ie he is being forced to divorce her and he doesn't want to. Also it is most definitely "So I fall face down in a rut", so change it dammit! Excellent song btw Jon if you are reading this maybe you can tell us about the sane/sign bit?
