it seems to me like hes singing about a mental pain. maybe schitzophrenia. hes saying how hes caught in a rut he cant get out of, caught inside himself, only trusting himself, because he sees others as out to hurt him. the chorus about being strong is probarbly reffering to someone else he sees. he has these problems and cant seem to put up with them, but sees everyone else living their lives, and as far as he knows, putting up with the same thing as him, but dealing with it, so he wishes he was as strong as them to be able to cope with how he feels. thats just how i see it though
