If Tomorrow Never Comes Lyrics
Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
'Cause I've lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there's no second chance to tell her how I feel
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face this world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there's no second chance to tell her how I feel
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face this world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

-A great lovesong, recently covered by Ronan Keating, who does a fantastic performance.
the song means not to take life for granted. if you know you love someone ell them coz it might be gone sooner then you want it to.
to me the song means to never go to sleep angry because if you never wake then your loved one has to live with that. It also means show your love always because no one knows what the future holds.
this song to me isn't just another song to me. i live with my cousin and he has two daughters that really look up to me a lot and one night passing by the youngests room i heard this song playing on the radio and i immediately thought that if tomorrow never came would she really know how much she meant to me. family is everything to me now because i had taken so much of their love for granted for too long. finally i am out of the shadows and i express my love for them more and more now. not because of this song but when i do hear this song it reminds me how fragile life is sometimes. it just makes me want to make more out of every minute i spend with those i love. great song.
I think this song is very beautiful. I agree with bbgirl .
This song will always be remembered as the 'What if' song for me. What if tomorrow never came for me? Would my crush know how much I fought myself to not get fidgety in front of him. Would he even return my feelings? This is one of those songs that makes you think about what you would do if something happened to you and you never got the chance to say something important. For instance, my grandfather died in the hospital while I was at school, I never got to say good-bye or say how much I loved him. Does he know I care? Does he know how much I miss him? This is just one of THOSE songs, it can't be explained...
This is by far my favorite Garth Song (though the rest of my family constantly fight with me about which was is better). While alot of his song's have a clear and powerfull meaning, this one speaks to me, as someone who has lost friends and loved ones I always took for granted. It's given me a constant voice in the back of my head to tell the people I have left just how I feel about them.
It is easy to take anything for granted if you believe it'll be there no matter what. The first time I heard this song years and years ago, I knew this was the type of person I wanted to be. One who never went to bed angry and the one who said "i love you" all the time. I took that into a 4 year relationship. However I forgot one thing. You have to share every emotion you feel. She started talking to the only guy i ever feared losing her to. I was so jealous, but i never showed jealousy. Turns out, 11 weeks after she officially left, that was the one thing that might've kept her here. I could tell her all day that I loved her. But I guess I didn't act like i did.
