This is one of Megadeth famous songs with political meanings..it talks about how political leaders exploit the general people in their country and leads them to havoc and distruction for their own selfish purposes..which can be seen in the first 2 paras.. I'm no fan of megadeth but I luv this song, it's too true and wow...amazing.
i think its all about the world leader stuff for the first two verses and chorus but for the last verse i think its about ghandi because he made the powers crumble by being peaceful and at the end he stood tall
I love how political the lyrics are but whats makes this song for me is simply how aggressive the riff is. One of Megadeth's best songs

Kirk isn't that great trust me. Daver does the job of the whole Metallica band. He writes most of the songs' lyrics, guitar riffs and sometimes the solos too(Kirk only writes the solos, he sucks at rhythm). All Kirk does is play lead guitar while Dave sings and plays too.

I disagree, I don't think that Metallica had much more influence than Megadeth, or Slayer or Anthrax for that matter. Saying that Metallica had the most influence on Thrash Metal ignores that they are only one of the "Big 4" BTW I happen to love both for their music (Though The members of Metallica are greedy assholes, much more so than Megadeth.)

Metallica do try and sort of "Sell" there albums. I love them, I really do! I think the music is great on all albums. (Don't care what people think of Load, Re-Load and St. Anger! I love all their albums) But now they've all sobered up, they've started to go just for the music and serving the song instead of taking from the fans.
