It also has things that could be references to nuclear war... mutually assured destruction, mankind has got to know his limitations, the general theme of being paranoid and being ready to kill someone out of fear, etc.
another cool thing is since it refers to nuclear war it helps round the corners off a bit. like nuclear war is well, carried out by the government. a schizophrenic is often paranoid mainly from the government.

I think this song is about Dave. His public persona versus his private one. the rock star image versus Dave Mustaine the man. The drug addict versus the musical genius. Very clever-I love it :O)
