Fairies Wear Boots Lyrics
Don't you hate it when you go in for your check-up and the doctor just says, "Son, son, you've gone too far, 'cause smokin' and trippin' is all that you do--yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaahh"?
Amazing song, with some great riffs.
I love how the person in the song has gone to see the doctor claiming he has seen fairies wearing boots... he doesn't make out the issue that he's seen fairies anyway...it's just the boots part that seems strange to him :)
drugs can do bad stuff to ya' mate

I hate to disagree with you rockstar001, but I actually think this is one of Sabbath's more self-explanitory songs. It's about some time when Ozzy was drunk or high or something, and he had hallucinations, such as, "Fairy boots were dancing' with a dwarf." The final 4 lines explain it perfectly:
"So I went to the doctor See what he could give me He said "Son, son, you've gone too far. 'Cause smokin' and trippin' is all that you do."
this is the coolest Sabbath song ever, love the intro w/bass and guitar
I actually read the book "I Am Ozzy" and in it he says still has no idea what that song is about. He did say he wrote it during a night of doing hard drugs and drinking.
the CORRECT meaning of this song is one night after a show, a couple skinheads (which were not nazies at the time, simply punks) beat the band up, so the band wrote a song about them! Also Prezuiwf was somewhat right.
does the kickass solo at the end sound like the one in metallica's 'for whom the bell tolls'? i think so anyway. the band explain the story in the last supper dvd, but my memory also fails me.
Yup agree. I just heard that and wondered why it sounded so darn familiar.

Metallica has taken a fair share of Black Sabbath's material. For example, Children Of The Grave is pretty similar to the riff in the middle of The Four Horsemen.

This song is so much better with Jack the Stripper attached.
"despite rumors, Geezer Butler did not write this song after being assaulted by a gang of skinheads. In the liner notes to the Black Box collection, it was confirmed that the song's origin comes from Ozzy Osbourne getting high and hallucinating that he was seeing fairies wearing boots."
That is if wikipedia is to be believed
errrr Geezer Butler wrote most of their songs, ozzy only ever wrote one. It is explained in one of their autobiography that geezy got set upon by skins head, this is nowt to do with ozzy
