Goin' home late last night
Suddenly, I got a fright
Yeah, I looked through a window and surprised what I saw
Fairy with boots and dancin' with a dwarf
Alright now

Yeah, fairies wear boots and you gotta believe me
Yeah, I saw it, I saw it, I tell you no lies
Yeah, fairies wear boots and you gotta believe me
I saw it, I saw it with my own two eyes
Alright now

Yeah, fairies wear boots and you gotta believe me
Yeah, I saw it, I saw it, I tell you no lies
Yeah, fairies wear boots and you gotta believe me
I saw it, I saw it with my own two eyes
Alright now

So I went to the doctor, see what he could give me
He said, "Son, son, you've gone too far
'Cause smokin' and trippin' is all that you do"
Yeah

Don't you hate it when you go in for your check-up and the doctor just says, "Son, son, you've gone too far, 'cause smokin' and trippin' is all that you do--yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaahh"?

Amazing song, with some great riffs. I love how the person in the song has gone to see the doctor claiming he has seen fairies wearing boots... he doesn't make out the issue that he's seen fairies anyway...it's just the boots part that seems strange to him :)

I hate to disagree with you rockstar001, but I actually think this is one of Sabbath's more self-explanitory songs. It's about some time when Ozzy was drunk or high or something, and he had hallucinations, such as, "Fairy boots were dancing' with a dwarf." The final 4 lines explain it perfectly: "So I went to the doctor See what he could give me He said "Son, son, you've gone too far. 'Cause smokin' and trippin' is all that you do."

I actually read the book "I Am Ozzy" and in it he says still has no idea what that song is about. He did say he wrote it during a night of doing hard drugs and drinking.

the CORRECT meaning of this song is one night after a show, a couple skinheads (which were not nazies at the time, simply punks) beat the band up, so the band wrote a song about them! Also Prezuiwf was somewhat right.

does the kickass solo at the end sound like the one in metallica's 'for whom the bell tolls'? i think so anyway. the band explain the story in the last supper dvd, but my memory also fails me.

"despite rumors, Geezer Butler did not write this song after being assaulted by a gang of skinheads. In the liner notes to the Black Box collection, it was confirmed that the song's origin comes from Ozzy Osbourne getting high and hallucinating that he was seeing fairies wearing boots." That is if wikipedia is to be believed
