I am iron man

Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all
Or if he moves will he fall?

Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
We'll just pass him there
Why should we even care?

He was turned to steel
In the great magnetic field
When he traveled time
For the future of mankind

Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
That he will soon unfurl

Now the time is here
For iron man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge

Heavy boots of lead
Fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron man lives again

soma, your on the right track. Its about a man who travels into the future, where he sees the apocalypse. He returns, going through a magnetic storm, where he turns to iron. He tries to warn the people of the apocalypse, but no one listens to him. He decide to have his revenge and he later finds out he was the reason for the apocalypse.

This song isn't about the Marvel Iron Man, but a completely different Iron Man that Sabbath made for this song. The song is about a man who travels through time into the future and sees the end of the world. When he goes back in time, he goes through the great magnetic field mentioned in the song, turning him into Iron Man. When he tries to tell the world what will happen, nobody cares becuase he can't talk. Being so enraged by this, he goes on a killing spree, creating the end of the world that he foresaw. A great song! I AM IRON MAN!

    My Interpretation

The meaning of this song is that a man traveled into the future and saw a future of destruction and death and went back in time to warn people of the coming destruction but in his travel back to the past he got turned to steel in the magnetic field and no one would listen to him because he was a freak, so he turned on the people and killed them and he caused the future that he tried to divert away from...

MetallibangeR, you're a dick. I bet a lot of the people who have posted on here and haven't referred to the Jesus story are Christians, and obviously at least 1 of the people who referred to it is NOT Christian. I myself am Catholic, but I don't think this song is about Jesus. Don't stereotype Christians as always trying to say something about Jesus every chance they get. By definition, stereotypes are almost never true, because there really isn't a "normal" anything. But anyway, I think this song is about the guy going to the future, coming back, etc.

uhm i doubt this is about jesus, seeing as he wouldn;t go fro vengance form teh grave, cos he died for us to save us from our sins.

and it kinda sounds like, this person came to save them but no one appreciated him, so he kills em all :P

From what I could gather with various interviews, the song itself is based on a movie in which a man goes to the future and sees total destruction. He goes back to try to attempt to alter the end of the world, yet the end of the world is caused by his attempt to stop it, and the song is based on his struggle to stop the destruction. That's what I heard on Ozzy DVD's, I guess you have to read into the lyrics a lot, because it is in no ways obvious.

This song is wicked!!! My fave sabbath one without a doubt. Yeah it obviously has some kinda science fiction theme but it could refer to just a normal person who wants to be accepted and want to be loved and help people but is rejected (for some reason) and slowly goes mad and plans vengence to make them pay. think of the stories of a lot of mass murderers, their anger tends to come from some kinda rejection.

I heard during the early years of Sabbath's formation (first 3 records or so), they would get together and ideas would just come to them; from a 5th invisible member. The song is based (very) loosely on this '5th member' who as many mentioned traveled to the future and tried to stop the apocalypse, etc. (perhaps by giving Sabbath the songs they wrote?).

Learning riffs... I agree; learn it note-for-note, trills 'n all; know it, learn it, then take it somewhere new!

Damn, and all this time I thought it was about a Marvel Superhero... I always loved this song, though. (I also like the comic books)

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
