I found the center of fruit is late,
It is the center of truth today,
Cut the apple in two,
Oh, I pray it isn't true,
I found the center of fruit is late,
Is the center of truth today,
I cut the apple in two,
Oh, I pray it isn't true,

I've got something you can never eat,
I've got something you can never eat,
I've got something you can never eat,
I've got something you can never eat,

I drained my heart and burn my soul,
I trained the core to stop my growth,
I pray to die in space,
to cover me in snow,
to cover me in snow,
cover me in snow,
I'm dying, I hope you're dying too,
cover me in snow,
I'm dying, I hope you're dying too(7x)

Take this from me, (hate me, hate me,)
Take this from me, (hate me, hate me,)

1, 2, 3, he is a speed bump mannequin,
1, 2, 3, he can't move just stand still,
1, 2, 3, he is a speed bump mannequin,
1, 2, 3, he can't move just stand still,

I've got something you can never eat,
I've got something you can never eat,
I've got something you can never eat, [repeat till fade]

I think that this "fruit" he's talkin about is the true meaning of life, and when he claimes he "cuts the apple in two, oh i pray it isn't true" is how he hopes that the fruit is just another hoax and that the meaning of life is still a mystery.. -shrug-

i love the speed bump mannequin metaphor. Makes me think of those crash test dummies that have to stand there until the car knocks them down. could also be a double entendre, speed bumps as in bumps of amphetamine (as they call them)- and the 'mannequin' has been doing so much speed he can't move. just a theory. don't listen to a lot of manson's stuff but there is something brilliant about this song.

    My Interpretation
It's the Second Coming from the perspective of someone born in the Baby Bust Generation. He's saying full names and places...sublimated. It's quite prophetic.

i think this song (obvious as it may be) is just about how god gave us all these things to desire and crave, but if we ever take them, we're damned. i think, "i'll cut the apple in two, oh I pray it isn't true," is Marilyn saying that he could resist temptation if it wasn't so appealing. if the apple was cut for him and ready to be taken by him, he wouldn't want it so bad. the way he says "i've got something you can never eat," sounds taunting, so i think thats god saying, "yeah here are all these wonderful sins, but if you give in to them, you're going to hell." great song.

"i drained my heart and burn my soul"......that might have to do with him detaching himself from the world and every personal connection he had.

Agrees with Zerpens. As a side note, I love Rasputina in this song, the way they say "I'm dying, I hope you're dying too" together is hypnotising.

To Gehenna: I think another interpration might be that he's taken the temptation and he's going to pay for it in "hell"("burn my soul")

ho many ppl have ever read genisis? i dont believe in god but the bible is an interesting read. Sodom is a city in genesis (somewhere around verse 14) it is supposed to be a wcity full of truly wicked people. so if eden was aplace of purity and good would not theapple os soddom be a greatersin than that of eden? its full of biblical referencing and about sin and things forbidden and how true it is today :)
