And she came to look for me
Sold me name and innocence
Took my key
And told me to follow her
Down from Igor with her bangles and her reference
One from the church from the valley of the --
Well she wanted a haven and a place to hide
So I gave her an alibi took her inside but ...

(chorus)
A rock and a hard place await for for me
Between the devil and the deep blue sea
Everything I ever did right or wrong
Hid out of sight where I belong,
Belong...

And I didn't have the heart to tell her why
And there wasn't a part of me that
Didn't want to say goodbye but...

Cause and effect go hand in hand and
The devil may care but I don't mind
And I thought she'd never quite understand
So I left her there that night
But will she find me?
I don't think so, no
When you go, you go alone
And I'm gone ...
Far away (x4)

And I didn't have the heart to tell her why
And there wasn't a part of me that
Didn't want to say goodbye but :

chorus (repeat to fade out)

    Song Meaning

(Like many of Andrews songs this is again a sad LOVE SONG about his long lost love from years ago...)

And she came to look for me Sold me name and innocence (Love found him he did not go looking for it... but it hurt HIM in the end) Took my key And told me to follow her Down from igor with her bangles and her reference (she swept his heart away) One from the church from the valley of the Well she wanted a haven and a place to hide (she was pure and innocent from a well off or middle class family with a solid religious background.. looking for a solid family to start... he was however not as pure or innocent as she was) So I gave her an alibi took her inside but (They started to share their own feelings and thoughts of themselves and life during this relationship. he was too honest with her)

A rock and a hard place await for for me Between the devil and the deep blue sea (He was asked a difficult question like have you done PROSTITUTION. .. he was too honest here as he thought he needed to be when in LOVE. ...a parallel is drawn here between him and her... him the devil and she being clean like the deep blue sea. .. now they suddenly seem so far apart and different in their own thoughts and beliefs) Everything I ever did right or wrong Hid out of sight where I belong, belong (His confession was far too wrong for her to understand or accept..)

And I didn't have the heart to tell her Why And there wasn't a part of me that Didn't want to say goodbye but (break up is hard. .. they broke up due to this passed action it became too of a big thing to actually deal with- A Rock in a Hard Place)

Cause and effect go hand in hand (he admits to his wrongs but the effects are already done) The devil may care but I don't mind (this action was of the devils work - and the devil did win but he still did not care as he justified his actions already) and I Thought she'd never quite understand so I Left her there that night but will she Find me? I don't think so, no When you go, you go alone

(He was hoping to mend this love relationship. .. but It was not to be she never returned... she was too pure and innocent for his past. . different and difficult life) And I'm gone............. far away [x4]

(Far away - too far apart to mend)

And I didn't have the heart to tell Why (His action was of lust... young lust of sex... he justified his actions... she was too pure to understand this type of man's action) And there wasn't a part of me that Didn't want to say goodbye but...

(Andrew regrets his actions in this song... he lost this love)

This song has taught us not to be too honest. ... expecially when you do not go looking for it in the first place... the devil will bring up the past and hurt you with your own truths when you least expecting it..

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
