This song has ver y powerful lyrics when observed closely. It describes many feelings one posses while beingin love. Trying to grab the attention of a certain someone, hurting yourself for that someone and inner empoitoanl pains of love are described in the song.

Punk In Drublic says... yeah, we've already established that it's "cut myself today" good for that. I think this song deals with feelings of love, but of apprehensiveness towards this love. Maybe obsession too? Either way, this is one of the best AFI songs I've ever heard.

this song is everything i've ever tried to let out and say, but something is stoping me from doing it...i've tired too many times to write on the subject of cutting, but everytime i begin to write, it hurts to much describing. I have to thank Davey so much for this and does anyone know where i can find a biography on Davey? I think Davey has done a lot for people like myself and shows some sort of twisted hope...

this is the perfect example of an ideal lovesong... to me anyway. when davey says "Hurt myself today. It's all for you." and then later "Cut myself today. It's all for you." he is talking about the extreme devotion that one has when in love, a love that is so powerfull, that you would do anything for that person, even if it means hurting yourself.
