yeah.. it's self-injury stuff. i mean... 'do you ever get that funny feeling, the itch right below the skin? the itch that only a razor blade can scratch?' in that small little print above the lyrics in the book.
it's like.. on the first couple albums he had different views.. i think it's on soap box derby when he says stuff about people hurting themselves for attention and stuff. and by shut your mouth, he'd done things he used to resent..
Definately suicide and how hes thought about it. The things hes regreted and how he chooses to set them straight.

It's about how he's losing a grasp on who he is and the confusion of life he is falling into. Very sad, but i love this band!
he's holding himself down, because he's afraid to get up. he's fallen and been hurt so many times, he's trapped himself. but maybe he wants someone to arrive, to help him up, and carry him on. because he would, if he could.
The suicide idea makes sense, especially when you consider the little quote in front of this song in the lyrics book.
this song is the greatest song of all time, its all of our feelings at one point, we all change, some of us are stupid to realize when our change has been for the worst
how does the name coin return fit into the name of this song?
A coin return is when you press the button and change comes back to you. I assume he means that he wants his past life (before he was dragged down into his hole) to be brought back. And by that he needs someone to pull him free. He's asking the person "Can you pull me free? I would do it myself if I could."
best AFI song by far. before davey thought his lyrics had to drip with self-righteous goth poetry.
