Abbyjade90 - I don't think he's being sarcastic exactly, I but I get what you're saying. Daniel said, about the polystyrene lyric specifically, that it is about: how when you're a kid and you get a hat at a party and you think it's great, but then you realise that it's just plastic or polystyrene and it's fragile and can melt in the sun, it wasn't what you originally thought it was, looking in. That is what Daniel Johns said about that lyric. "Telephone. Socially scared and impaired" I think that is kind of obvious... Daniel has said many times, specifically if this period in his life, how he hated the phone and if he was in the room when one would ring he would leave the room. Daniel was agoraphobic, "socially scared and impaired". I suffer from agoraphobia myself and that shit is not fun. Some of the other lyrics can be interpreted many different ways.
Possibly A person has a love, and the love doesn't feel the same or they do but the two of them arent together yet, so the person goes on but remembers what they had,and what they may have continues to be strong

It's just like about that person that just "brightens" yur day to see them. They may not even know yur alive, but they mean everything to you somehow...and yur willing to hold out on them forever if that's what it takes
I'd say jenlynn02 and nicocola covered it pretty well...it's seeing that person and just wanting to tell them how much you care about them and what they mean to you, how they make everything so much more beautiful and real, but you just can't bring yourself to so you continue to live without them knowing...
