Daniel has said many times, specifically if this period in his life, how he hated the phone and if he was in the room when one would ring he would leave the room. Daniel was agoraphobic, "socially scared and impaired". I suffer from agoraphobia myself and that shit is not fun. Some of the other lyrics can be interpreted many different ways.
