Faultline Lyrics
Unsuspecting brother doesn't know what to do
When everything just falls to the ground, ohh
He runs to find some cover, he doesn't have a clue
That his friend will never be found
When he's informed, that he...
Will never see the boy
Will never see the boy
Never see him open his eyes
Will never see the boy
Never see the boy
You'll only hear his heavenly cries
ooh, yeah
Thinking of the past, it's all over now
Mother nature strikes once again
It happened all so fast, my only question's how
How could they let that building descend
Ohh, yeah, ohhhh...
You will never see the boy
You will never see the boy
You will never see him open his eyes
You will never see the boy
Never see the boy
You'll only hear his heavenly cries
ooh, yeah
Off to the new life, I live on death
You're leaving me all through the night
If he's born again, I need you to find
Need you to find where he is
When everything just falls to the ground, ohh
He runs to find some cover, he doesn't have a clue
That his friend will never be found
When he's informed, that he...
Will never see the boy
Never see him open his eyes
Will never see the boy
Never see the boy
You'll only hear his heavenly cries
ooh, yeah
Mother nature strikes once again
It happened all so fast, my only question's how
How could they let that building descend
Ohh, yeah, ohhhh...

ooh, yeah
You're leaving me all through the night
If he's born again, I need you to find
Need you to find where he is

this song makes alot more sense now, thanx molks! even if it is so so sad...
yeah...it's about an earthquake that happened years ago.....
Yeah..In Newcastle, Australia which is about an hours drive from my place where Daniel, Ben and Chris grew up, there was a really really really bad famous earthquake there, and this song's about Daniels friend dying in that earthquake
it isnt about his friend dying, he was watching to news coverage on tv about the quake and wrote the song
sorry haushinkareject
this song is about a friend of Daniel's dying in the Newcastle earthquakes
newcastle, 1989.
Yeah, it's about the earthquake... Daniel was young! It must have been pretty hard on him :(
I don't know if this is what the song is about, but this reminds me of the death of River Phoenix and Joaquin's reaction to it.
This might just be my favorite song off of Frogstomp. Maybe even my favorite Silverchair song, in general. I've loved it ever since I first heard it. Anyway, I've read that it's about a friend of Daniel's who died in an Earthquake. If that's true, then that makes this a pretty sad song. A really good one, though.
@drownnsoda I don't know where this hoax of him composing this song for a friend arouse, but it is simply not true. He made the lyrics after he watched the news, or something. Back then he did note compose anything about him, only about stuff he would watch on the TV. If you look at the list of victims from Newcastle's 1989 earthquake there are no kids. The younger person was 30 years old. So no, there was no childhood friend of Daniel Johns who died on this incident.
