Home Lyrics

I've got a little red bow
And I bought it for you
'Cause I know you're not fair
I don't get it, oh well

And you color my skin
And the colors don't blend
'Cause I'm gonna get you
And your little dog too

There's a yellow brick road
That we follow back home
And I know you can't wait
Your belligerent hate

There's no place like home
There is no place like home

Like home

I've, got a southern belle too
In her ruby red shoes
With a body of straw
Are you sick of it all?

There's a man made of tin
With an oil can grin
And I'm gonna get you
And your little dog too

There's a yellow brick road
That we follow back home
And I know you can't wait
Your belligerent hate

There's no place like home
There's no place like home

There's a little white porch
And you wanted it so
Can you let me go down
To the end of the road

In the black and the white
A techni-colorful life
Can I stand by your side?
We can make it alright

Like home

'Cause I'm home
There's a little white porch
And you wanted it so
Can you let me go down
To the end of the road

In the black and the white
A technicolorful life
Then another arrived
It's a cowardly lion

What I want from this world
What I want to resolve
Well I want you to stay
So I want you to wait

I don't wanna be bold
I don't wanna be cold
I don't wanna grow old
And I wanna go home!

this song is 2 layered its not wizard of oz at all

When you color my skin And the colors don't blend - you want me to be something im not

Cause I'm gonna get you And your little dog too -- getting you and your bitch (diferent guy, wa-psh style as well as a dog) ^^^^^ notice its ITS as in getting you and your friend is the path

It's a yellow brick road -- its an important path the only one he can take That we followed back home -- taking the said path is the only way to return to normal Cause I know you cant wait -- for some sex You're beligerant, hey -- basically he got cock blocked and hes pissed

There's no place like home There's no place like... Home -- who doesnt wanna be normal Like home

I've got a southern belle too -- sounds like something i say when i say when im jelous, its a rebound In her ruby red shoes -- damn shes nice With a body of straw -- but there isnt mind in it, remember straw didnt have a brain Are you sick of it all? -- you jelous yet? with an oil can grin -- he didnt have a heart, heartless grin

Could you let me go down To the end of the road -- shes the end of the road In the black and white Technicolorful life -- were missing a lot, we see black and white when theres so much more Can I stand by your side? -- can just we get back together We'll make it alright... -- forgive eachother

the rest of it kind of repeats... but basically he got cockblocked and he was pissed so he went out and got another chick to try to make them jelous but it doesnt mean anything

I would have to agree pretty much 100%. I get that its modeled after the Wiz of Oz but I def think there is so much more to the song!

He's in a twisted relationship with a woman. She colors his skin and the colors don't blend means she leaves him feeling abused. He says he's going to get her and that there's no place like home. He says no place like home with anger. He wants her to come back home. She obviously left. When he says he's going to get her, he means sexually and physically back. "I've got a southern belle too with ruby red shoes" He's describing how he has another woman now. "Are you sick of it all?" he asks her if she's sick of it because he wants to make her mad and is wondering if she's jealous. He wants her jealous. Revenge is something he's after. When he said "too" this means she also has someone else. "There's a man made of tin with an oil can grin" This is him in the metaphor. He is hollow. The grin is symbolic for his evil intensions. He wants to do her harm. "Can you let me go down? To the end of the road. Can I stand by your side? We can make it alright." He's basically saying he wants to be with her forever. He knows they can make it if she lets him. Then another arrived. "It's a cowardly lion." This is referring back to her new boyfriend. The lyricist thinks he's a coward. He then basically says what he wanted from this world was resolution and for her to wait for him instead of running off with other men. He says he knows she not fair and that he doesn't get it. He doesn't understand why she left him when he loved her and probably did a lot of things for her. He's unhappy in his new relationship and refers to his girlfriend as "straw" pretty much mindless. It's a song about revenge, jealousy, and love. He wants her to take him back.

hmmm a song about the wizard of oz... listening to it without the lyrics makes it seem like there should be an underlying meaning but i cant find any.... great song anyway, i think its cool that they could take a song with these lyrics and make it as kick ass as they did

There are a lot of great ideas about this song so far. But for me it goes just a step further. It's not only the place that can make a home, home. I think its also the people in it. At the beginning the protagonist is alone in a strange new world where they don't feel comfortable. They just want to get back home. As the song progresses they begin to realize being with these other individuals helps them feel more at home.

Cause I'm home There's a little white porch And you wanted it so Could you let me go down To the end of the road In the black and white Technicolorful life

If you watch the movie Dorthy is at home when its black and white. That is what she considers normality. When she gets to Oz everything is in color and its all strange to her. Also I see this as a crossroads in the persons life. They are at the end of the road where everything behind them was home a place where they belong, and right in front of them is this strange place where they aren't sure what could happen.

What I want from this world What I want is resolve

This part I interpret is the person asking themselves what do they want to gain from the world. Should they stay at a place where they feel like they belong or step into a brand new world and explore?

Well I want you to stay So I want you wait I don't wanna be bold I don't wanna be cold I don't wanna grow old I wanna go home...

At the very end they are saying they don't want to be bold and travel to this unexplored area where something could go wrong. They fear failure so instead of chancing it they ask this other person, their rock, to stay with them in a place where they feel they fit in and don't chance anything.

Just the way I hear it. Let me know if anyone agrees/disagrees. Either way great song!

this song and cd s amzing really should be purchased

song has something today with wizard of oz...good lyrocs too

wow you are seriously retarded first I think you meant to do and yes they do use analagies from the wizard of oz but its not a song about the wizard of oz you fucking dumb ass

Before insulting anybody, please learn how to spell. As for the song's meaning, it IS about the Wizard of Oz.

The only thing i can say is... every time i hear this song it hits me hard. I used to stay with my grandparents as much as could, and now they are gone. 98% of the rest of my family either lives overseas or is gone (/the equivilant to gone). The ONE place i ever felt at home at was my grandparents place. I want to go home but i can't. It technically doesn't exist anymore. So the best thing i can say is pretty much the old saying... Home, is where ever you make home. I could elaborate...
