That's great, it starts with an earthquake
Birds, snakes and airplanes
You know I am not afraid, yeah yeah yeah

Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn
World serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs
Feed it like an aux feeds, grunt, no, strength, no
Ladder starts with a clattered gear found high
Wire in a fire represents a seven gauge in a government rage

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

That's great, it starts with an earthquake
Birds and snakes and airplanes
Toby Mac has never, ever, ever been afraid

Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn
World serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs
Feed it like an aux feeds, grunt, no, strength, no
Ladder starts with a clattered gear found high
Wire in a fire represents a seven gauge in a government rage

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine
I feel fine, yeah

A freak indeed but not the type that sneaks
Peek into my past and my rhymes seem Greek
For I wasn't the man that I am today, see
I ran the games like Tate manned his fade

Max was a factor in those early days
We turned blacks and whites into hazy grays
Til' the Word cut through us like a buck knife
And so deep, I'll be a freak for life

Nice tribute...who says christian groups cannot like secular music? I guess it proves that the music comes from God, and the lyrics are up to us.

I didn't realize that DC Talk did a version of this song. I love what you have said, opinionhead, about music coming from God and lyrics up to us. It's beautiful.

This song is about not being afraid of the end. DC Talk remade the REM song, so you can assume that they found something spiritual in the song. Let me suggest instead that this song isn't about God at all though. Play devil's advocate if you will. I think instead that this is a song about being content, even though the world is chaotic and falling apart.

Just in case you wanted to know, the song is on their live cd "Welcome to the Freak Show" And I must say (although it doesn't need to be said), they did a great job of the cover.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
